5. Performance Requirements
The performance requirements specified in this manual (shown in Table 1) are the minimum requirements. If a maker considers that other items should be
examined, additional tests should be performed.

* Notes in making tests:

CO
1) All the tests required in this manual should be carried out in the vehicle assembly condition or similar. The test samples primarily should be finished products. If it is
possible to judge the product by testing a piece cut from the product or its material, the test may be conducted on such a piece or material. In this case, however, it should
be clearly specified in the test report.
For a product of which the conditions of manufacture are different from those applied to mass-produced products, it should be also specified on the test report, because
the product is to be guaranteed basically as a mass-produced part.

RA
2) Unless otherwise expressly specified*, the test should be conducted at room temperature (20 ± 5 °C). During the test, the test piece should be kept at such a temperature.
* The test should be performed at the standard atmospheric temperature in class 5 and at the standard humidity in class 20 specified by JIS Z8703 (Standard
Atmospheric Conditions for Testing).

PA
The ordinary temperature should meet the standard atmospheric temperature in class 2 and at the standard atmospheric humidity in class 5 specified by the said JIS
Z8703.
3) For tests of which the results may vary with loading positions (for example, falling ball impact test), loading points should be properly selected for the test so that every
part of the product can be guaranteed.

LO
The selected load application positions should be specified on the proposal drawing.
4) If it is very difficult for a maker to judge the result of a test, consult with the department of Nissan in charge of design and evaluation by presenting the test samples and
photographs.

SO
6. Items to be Confirmed
Before starting the production of this product, in addition to the proposal drawing, the necessary items described below should be submitted to the section in charge of design to
be approved by Nissan.
1) Wooden pattern : Makers should submit a wooden pattern model representing the external shape and the measured data

DO
before manufacturing the pattern.
3 If stylo-form is used for the model, the model will be examined for reference only.
2) Confirmation of finished moldings : Makers should submit finished moldings and the measured data.
3) Confirmation of letters and symbols : Makers should submit the samples for approval.

LA
4) Confirmation of tests : Makers should submit test result reports and test samples.
7. Issue of Proposal Drawings
Makers should issue the proposal drawing containing the following items to be approved by the section in charge of design.

RO
1) Detailed specifications of the material, shape, parts structure, etc. and the test items necessary for inspecting the part.
2) Standard and permissible values regarding the coating film thickness, amount of application and skin thickness of the skin covered parts for painting, primer coating and
23 adhesive application (Applicable to the entire items that layers are additionally built up on the base materials such as for hydraulic pressure transcript, top coating and
plating) NT
A form to be entered in the proposal drawing shall be subject to Attached sheet Descriptive format (3).
3) Regarding the components and each material, items including the name of manufactured company, production site, manufacturing method, process and material grade
37
(brand name)
CO

Format to write in the proposal drawing shall comply with descriptive format (1) of the attached sheet in principle. For complex materials, describe the details of each
construction material.
4) Evaluation testing methods, evaluation conditions and test results regarding the performance requirements.
5) Performance assuring ranges based on the above test results.

8. Marking

CO
8 The maker shall put the following marks on the products in such a manner as not to allow them to disappear easily: Nissan genuine part marks (marks in class 2, I=20, specified
in NES D 0021, unless otherwise individually specified) and material identification marks for polymeric parts (specified in NES D 0031). The making method, the marking position
and the size of the mark should be specified on the proposal drawing for Nissan's approval. If marking is considered to involve a change in cost or to affect the function and/or
performance of the product, an arrangement should be made with the design section in charge. For the year of manufacture, identification marking, etc., a discussion should be

RA
held with the design section and the evaluation section in charge to make an arrangement.
9. Miscellaneous
1) When a maker wants to make any change reckoned to be likely to influence the function and performance of the product (change of material composition, molding

PA
condition, press direction, etc.), the maker should submit the change details and the test results in writing to the section in charge of design beforehand.
2) Makers should start on the product design and manufacture in details after making an adequate investigation into competitive products and related patents.
3) Makers should store the data about evaluation testing methods, evaluation conditions and test results which are used to determine performance assuring range and
should submit them if requested.
