Assignment 1 (40% weighting)

A. What Business is process reengineering

B. What is the relation between BPR, IT and Business Strategy?
C. What are Key Success and Failure factors in BPR?

(Maximum 1500 words)

Assignment 2 (60% weighting)

Provide a comparative account of the different types of environments,

different types of business application uses, telecommunications and the
Internet uses by a bank and a small manufacturing organization that
specializes in manufacturing plastic toys for children.

(Maximum 2000 words)

In this title pay a particular attention to the following sub-topics:

• Differentiate between the two types of organizations suggested.

• Different environments for a bank and a small manufacturing
organization that affect their implementation of IS.
• Different types and categories of business applications that may be
used by the two organizations.
• Types of network structures useful for the two types of organizations
suggested.
• Types of business uses of the Internet by the two types of
organizations.
Further notes:

1) Give relevant real life practical examples that you know about or have
read about in the newspapers, books and/or the Internet.

2) Use relevant references throughout the assignment and provide a list of

the references read at the end of the assignment..

3) The word limit for the Assignment-1 is 1500 + references and for the
Assignment- 2 is 2000 words + references. A penalty applies if you go
over the word limit also try not to go below the word limit by more than
10%.

4) Use the following layout guidelines for the whole assignment:

Font: Bookman Old Style

Report text size: 12
Margins left and right: 3 cm
Margins top and bottom: 3 cm
Numbered pages
Left and right margins should be fully justified

You should also include a coversheet at the front of your

assignment.

5) Bind (ring bind) your essay. Please do not insert you essay into A4 plastic
wallet.
