ITM Functions
For a quick reference guide see appendix in user manual pg 307.
Schedule
Number of programs = Max 100 with up to 20 actions a day
Yearly calendar can be used for special days and can be specified by date or
month/week/day of the week. Special day settings can reoccur every year.
Specification
The controller shall have two types of schedules; the first is a weekly schedule where events
are set by the day of the week and an annual schedule using special days for public
holidays. In addition, schedules can be set for different seasons.
Setback
Setback allows the room temperature to be maintained within an acceptable range when the
units are not in use. This operates in both heating and cooling mode. This can be activated
by a schedule or a DI signal from motion sensor or switch.
Specification
The controller shall allow for set point temperature shifts between 1-7º C up or down
depending on operating mode when space is unoccupied.
Pre-heat/cool
The Pre-heat/cool function calculates the time to automatically start the air conditioners from
the suction temperature and set point difference. The start time is adjusted accordingly as
the function learns from repeated use. Otherwise known as optimised start.
Specification
The controller shall have a function that starts the air conditioners earlier than the time set in
the schedule so that the room temperature reaches the set point by the set time.
4
Sliding temperature
Sliding temperature is a function that changes the indoor set point in accordance with the
changes in the outdoor temperature so that the difference between the outdoor and indoor
temperatures is not excessive in spaces with entry/exit points to outside the building. This
function only works in cooling mode.
Specification
The controller shall be able to adjust the set point when in cooling operation depending on
the outdoor ambient temperature.
Interlocks
Interlocking control is a function that allows you to control two or more management points
and/or areas based on the status of another management point.
Specification
The controller shall be able to change the status of a management point based on a set of
conditions referenced from another management point or set point.
Temperature limit
Temperature limit is a function that keeps the room temperature within an upper and lower
limit by automatically starting the cooling or heating when the room temperature exceeds the
set upper or lower limits. Upper limit range is 32 to 50 and the lower limit is 2 to 16
5
Specification
The controller shall be able automatically start the system for out of hours operation in
cooling when the space temperature is between 32°C to 50°C or in heating when space
temperature is between 2°C to 16°C depending on set points.
Email
Up to 10 email addresses can be used for fault notifications
Example of email
Specification
The controller shall be able to send a fault notification listing the site name, date, time and
fault code to 10 different email addresses.
Web access
All operations and system configurations can be accessed by web access. Must have adobe
flash player therefore smart phones and certain tablets cannot be used. (Windows based
phones and tablets allow flash player)
• There will be up to 4 managers and 60 general users (only 16 general users can
access at a time)
• Screens and operations accessible to general user can be restricted.
Specification
The controller shall be able to be accessed via the internet for remote operation from a PC.
Automatic changeover
Auto changeover function allows you to maintain tighter control over temperature when
automatic mode is required compared to allowing local controller switch modes.
Specification
The controller shall automatically switch the mode of an indoor or a group of indoors
depending on the change of indoor room temperature.
6
Energy Navigator- note this is an optional extra
The energy navigator is a graphical display for energy consumption. It will show
consumption for electrical, gas and water. A maximum of 30 energy meters can be used for
monitoring via Energy Navigator. Energy consumption is presented on a daily and monthly
basis; this can be compared to the previous year. Energy Navigator monitors equipment
operation for out-of-hours use and set point variations.
Specification
The controller shall have the ability to display the consumption of water, gas and electricity
annually, monthly and year-to-year. Additionally, the controller shall have the ability to record
the operation of indoor units out of business hours, and set points diverging from the existing
plan.
Specification
The controller shall be able to distribute the electrical consumption of an outdoor to the
indoors based on operation duration, room temperature and expansion valve-opening ratio.
7
Layout Screens – note this is an optional extra
You can have up to 60 layout screens that can be made up of full or partial floor layouts
depending on density of icons. You can have up to 100 icons per layout screen.
Specification
The controller shall be able to show the layout of the equipment on floor plans.
Timer Extension
This function gives you the ability to shut down an indoor unit after a certain period.
This can be from 30-180 minutes and cannot be set differently for individual units meaning if
the timer extension function is set for 120 mins then all units that have this function set to on
will only operate for the set amount of time.
Specification
The controller shall have the ability to switch indoor units off after a set period to prevent
being left on. This can be between 30 and 180 minutes.
8
External interface with iTM
The reason for using DEC/ DTA cards is it may be more economical than Wago if only one
or two input/ outputs are required. Also as the DEC/ DTA cards are connected by the F1 / F2
loop you may be able to have the switching closer the equipment being controlled.
9
Terminals on the iTM and iTM plus adaptors
On the iTM,
Di2, Di3, Di4 can be used as either digital inputs or pulse inputs.
Di1, Di2, Di3, Di4 can be used as either digital inputs or pulse inputs.
Equipment
Required
Optional
2 x DI for run and fault status (Cannot have fault status on its own must have both run and
fault status)
Specification
The controller shall be able to switch a fan on/off when either an indoor unit or schedule
enables/disables operation.
10
Lights
An interlock is able to switch on/off a light either by a schedule enabled/disabled or by DI
from motion sensor/switch.
Equipment
Required
Optional
Specification
The controller shall be able to switch a light on/off when an indoor unit, schedule or motion
sensor/switch enables/disables operation.
The CO2 value is determined by a CO2 sensor, which feeds a 0-10 Vdc or 4-20mA signal to
the Wago module. An interlock is able to step the amount of outside air that enters the space
up or down based on a series of set points.

Commissioning
ITMSETUP
ITMSETUP is a charge to commission an iTM or iTM plus adaptor. Up to a maximum
of 4 x ITMSETUP can be used per iTM i.e. you have 1 x iTM and 4 x iTM plus adaptor you
only allow for 4 x ITMSETUP not 5. If you have multiple iTM’s on site then each iTM and
corresponding iTM plus adaptor must be allowed for i.e. you have 2 iTM’s on site each with 4
iTM plus adaptors then you allow 8 x ITMSETUP not 10 or 4.
Scope of works
ITMSETWEB
The web software is standard on the iTM but still needs to be commissioned. Needs
to be allowed for each iTM
Scope of works
• Co-ordinate with client’s IT department to obtain and apply for required network and
email server settings
• Apply and test network and email server settings
• Create Web User access accounts and provide training to end users on Web Access
function
ITMSETPPD
Set up for PPD. Note there is software and ancillary equipment required. See below in PPD
section
Scope of works
• Verification of CT’s and KWh Meter installation (wiring of CT/KWhr meter and timing
it takes for the kWh meter to pulse based on measured current draw)
• Configuration of PPD software including specifying and verifying model numbers of
indoor units
Please note if contractor uses a field supplied kWhr meter then they will have to
commission and ensure accuracy themselves. If contractor uses field suppled CT’s then
they will have to ensure it matches specifications of Daikin suppled kWhr meter.
15
COMM_WAGO
For every 10 external points, there is a single allowance. I.e. if you have 20 external
points than you will need to allow 2 x COMM_WAGO. When using control select software it
will determine correct allowance.
Scope of works
ITMSETENGR
If the customer has asked for layout screens to be added then an allowance for each
iTM is required.
Scope of works
PPD
ITM
Max number of kWhr meters is 31 if 1 x iTM and 7 x iTM plus adaptors are used.

For single phase, you need one x kWhr meter and one x current transformer
For three phases, you need one x kWhr meter and three x current transformer
Determine current draw from the VRV xpress document for outdoors, BS boxes and indoors.
Determine with contractor or drawings, which systems are to be fed from which electrical
boards to determine the total mca value required for CT sizing. Make sure the only
equipment that is supplied is VRV not fans or lights as this will corrupt the readings
Ideally CT sizes should be under 600 amps to maintain accuracy when system operating at
low load or when only one or two indoors are running.

Compatibility
When using Bacnet or Lonworks interfaces with I Touch manager, the Bacnet or Lonworks
will be the main controller. This means all features are available from the iTM except prohibit
functions of the wall controllers.
In addition, the Bacnet / Lonworks interfaces can only detect devices on the DIII net;
therefore, devices connected to Wago cannot be seen through the interfaces.
Also useful for more information is D-BACS design guide EDMT721210A for general
controls information.
