HOW TO BANDAGE A HEAD

Head injuries (head trauma) is a condition in which the structure of the head clash from the outside and
the potential to cause disturbances in brain function. Some conditions on head injuries include minor cuts,
bruises on the scalp, swelling, bleeding, dislocation, fractures of the skull and a concussion, depending on the
mechanism of impact and severity of injuries experienced.

Wounds and fractures due to an accident or trauma is a condition that often occurs. And aid to the
injured most often be done first is to do the dressing. Embodies is action to support or hold parts of the body so
as not shifted or changed from the desired position. Principles bind is to hold something that is not moved from
its place.

Wrapping has several objectives:

1. Protect the wound from contamination of microorganisms.


2. Reduce damage to tissue injury.
3. Accelerate healing by absorbing drainage and to perform wound debridement.
4. Supporting or tighten the wound edges.
5. Protecting clients from viewing keaadaan wound (when the wound looks unpleasant).
6. Increase the temperature on the surface of the wound insulation.
7. Maintaining high moisture between the wound and dressing.
8. Reducing pain and pain in the wound.
9. To prevent a hazard disabilities.

Benefits of dressings:

1. Covering the wound from light and dirt.


2. As a suppressor, towing, anchoring, locking, and immobilization (members do not move).
3. Supporting splinting.

Various dressings:

1. Wrapping triangle: mitela, platenga, and Punda.


2. Wrapping rolls.
3. Wrapping fast.

Procedure Bandaged Head With Mitella

Mitela an isosceles triangle of cloth with leg lengths between 50-100 cm, made of cloth. In its use is
often folded so as to resemble a tie. In this case mitela can be replaced with bandage tape. Mitella used to wrap
the body part that is round. Also can used to hang arm injury. These dressings can be used on injuries to the
head, shoulders, chest, elbows, palms, feet, and hips.

In general, how to bind with mitella can follow the steps below:

1. One side of the folded mitella 3-4 cm by 1-3 times


2. Mid-sides have been folded placed outside the part to be bandaged, then pulled it sufficiently and

B. How To Bandage The Wound On The Head


1. Tools preparation
2. Explain to the patient about the procedure actions to be taken
3. Wash hands, in order to prevent infection by the hand and helped eliminate microorganisms in the
skin or hands.
a. Remove the accessories in hand and roll the sleeves up to your elbows
b. Wet your hands in running water
c. Pour enough soap in the palm of the hand and then rub your palms and rub gently with
directional rotating.

the edge of the wound to prevent infection
6. Dry the wound and cover the wound with sterile gauze
