CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
The main aim of our project is to manage the database of the
pharmaceutical shop. This is done by creating a database of the
available products of the store/shop. This program can be used in
any pharmaceutical shops having a database to maintain.
It provides online order to the customer of medicines for
that patient have to login the portal/websites.
This software can generate reports as per the user’s
requirement. The software can show invoices (bills) receipts etc. It
can also maintain the record of supplies sent by the supplier.
This application is web based and user friendly as well as
anyone with good internet can easily access and can use the
application.
Sometimes a scenario can come where the patient will have trouble
going to the pharmacy and buy the medicine that he need. And this
type of scenario can come often. Hence this online medical pharmacy
can provide help for people in need so that they can order medicine of
their need at their door.

CHAPTER 3: OBJECTIVES
The main objectives behind the development of this project are as
follows :
Provides the searching facilities based on various factors:
such as customer, medicine, order details, medicine stock
etc.
Also manages the payment details of the customer, supplier
etc.
Manage the information of medicine stock, medicine
company, customer etc.

Helps in keeping track of all activities like login/logout details
of both customer and admin.
4
Be expandable
Easy to understand by the user/customer and operator
To assist the staff in capturing the effort spent on their
respective working areas.
Have a good user interface.
Delivered on schedule within the budget.
Generates information about customer, supplier, medicine
etc. that can be used for various purposes.
4.2 Limitations
Some of the limitations of the project are:
Our system is completely based on internet.
Problems to maintain daily record of the transactions.
Our system is limited to web application only.
Customer cannot add, edit and update the system.

5.1 LITERATURE REVIEW
Abstract
Internet pharmacy has been the focus of heightened interest over the
past 3 years since the first major Web site was introduced in the United
States. This paper addresses issues pertaining to Internet pharmacies
that sell prescriptions and other products to consumers at the retail
level. The Internet pharmacy industry has shifted rapidly in the short
time span. Internet pharmacies can offer privacy that is often lacking in
5
a traditional pharmacy .However, there is need to consider critically the
ethical principles in the use of cyber medicine. The development of
online pharmacies has prompted regulatory and monitoring actions at
the federal, state, and professional organization levels. Advice to
consumers is offered regarding the use of Internet pharmacy sites for
purchasing prescription drug products.
Introduction
Internet has evolved into a self-organizing media, capable of multiple
interactions within. A large number of consumer products including
drugs are being advertised and sold over the Internet. Though the
marketing of drugs over the Internet is an inevitable outcome of the
booming e-economy, it poses unique ethical, legal and quality
challenges - the prime cause being the anarchic structure of the
Internet. These challenges are important from the consumer, physician
and regulator perspectives.
Amongst the many commercial activities that are now flourishing in this
environment are Internet Pharmacies (e-Pharmacies, Cyber
Pharmacies), providing a variety of products (e.g. health and beauty
products) as well as prescription drugs. Some pharmacies only dispense
drugs with a valid prescription, some provide online consultations for
prescribing and dispensing medicines, and some dispense medications
without a prescription. There are a number of reasons that may lead
patients to the use of the internet in search of medical care. It acts as a
6
second opinion or second doctor for desperate patients. Also, it gives
insight into patient problems, as well as the drugs that could cure them.
Conclusion
Lawful Internet pharmacies benefit a consumer’s healthcare experience
in many ways. These pharmacies provide convenience and efficiency—
two advantages coveted by people living busy lives. Consumers can
take a few minutes out of their lunch break to place an order, or they
can even order the prescriptions at 3 A.M., long after many
conventional pharmacies have closed. Internet pharmacies can offer a
degree of privacy not found at the local pharmacy.
Finally, Internet pharmacies assist homebound patients and those living
far from a traditional pharmacy.

5.3 FEASIBILITY STUDY
5.3.1 TECHNICAL FEASIBILITY
The following factor suffice for considering the given project as
Technically Feasible.
The system is developed in .Net technology which is well known today
and today we can easily get the technical help from internet.
The system is development is done in Visual Studio for ease and
powerful performance.
The project will be using MySQL sever which are readily available for
the development.
5.3.2 ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY
The availability of required hardware and software used to develop our
project makes it economically feasible.
5.3.3 OPERATIONAL FEASIBILITY
As the system is going to be developed at the place where it is going to
be implemented, the track of the operation related to the software is
constantly monitored by them and sufficient support is available.

Fig 3.1 Use Case Diagram of E-Care
The system accepts the information of customer, medicine and admin
through the interface. The system organizes the data and using the
algorithm system will generate the name of medicine which is
accessible by customer where all the detail of input is provided by the
admin. All this process is only possible after the registration and login
process.
11
CHAPTER 7: ALGORITHM USED
The algorithm used is quick sort for arranging the product in an proper
alphabetical order. The data from the database are fetched and are
arranged in alphabetical order so that customer can properly use the
cart . Search functionality is also implemented in order to make user
easily search the product he/she wants.
CHAPTER 8: TOOLS
8.1 IMPLEMENTATION TOOLS
The tools used are:
(i) Razor, Java script
(ii) SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio)
(iii) My SQL
(iv) .NET framework
(v) HTML and CSS
Razor and java script is used for view as front end i.e ,to display the
content in the browser. SSMS and MySQL is used for database. And
.Net framework is used for backend coding due to its large availability
of library files and easy migration. HTML is used for listing item and CSS
is used for proper style and for making UI catchy.
