District Attorney Bubba Bramlett will bring BROWN before Rankin County Court Kent McDaniel for an
initial appearance.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at approximately 11:45 p.m., Rankin County deputies were dispatched to the
100 block of Live Oak Lane, Brandon, Rankin County, for a home invasion. Once on scene, deputies
spoke to a juvenile male victim who had suffered a laceration to his head. The victim stated that Joe
Christian BROWN and two juvenile males entered through the front door. Once inside the residence,
the victim stated that BROWN wanted to know the location of another individual. The victim stated that
he did not know and BROWN became irate, striking the victim with a handgun multiple times and taking
his money. At this time the adult resident of the house came to the room to check on the commotion
and the three suspects left the house on foot. Deputies went to the residence of one of the suspects
and were able to locate both juvenile suspects who were taken into custody. Rankin County deputies
