Course description

This course will enable students to understand the basic principles of operation of
transformers, AC machines and DC machines. Understand torque and speed control of
electrical machines and application of power electronics in Drive Systems.

Course objective

At the end of this course the students will be able to:

 Understand the basic principle of electrical machines


 Understand the application of different electronic components and its characteristics;
theory of semiconductor devices, transistor configuration, operation amplifier and timers.

 Academic dishonesty including cheating, fabrication, and plagiarism will not be


tolerated.
 85% of class and 100% of laboratory attendance is mandatory.
 Cellphones MUST be turned off before entering the class
