Teaching with technology can deepen student learning by supporting instructional objectives.
However, it can be challenging to select the “best” tech tools while not losing sight of our goals for
student learning. Technology can encompass all kinds of tools from low-tech pencil, paper, and
chalkboard, to the use of presentation software, or high-tech tablets, online collaboration and
conferencing tools, and more. The newest technologies allow us to try things in physical and virtual
classrooms that were not possible before. Computer technology is almost ubiquitous and a major
contributor to the flat world’ described by Thomas Friedman (2007). The purpose of this study is to
assess the effect of technology-based teaching to the student learning given technology standards for
teachers and students to motivate them and retain knowledge being gained. The researchers aimed to
achieve the following objectives such as to assess the impact of technology-based teaching, identify why
teachers should use technology, and find out the positive and negative effects of technology. They used
experimental design of research by getting the results coming from the pre-test and posttest scores from
the respondents. The study was concluded that the effect of technology on students’ motivation and
knowledge retention is helpful and effective.
II. The Impact of Computer-based Teaching on the Academic Performance of Grade 10
Students in DEGMNHS

Grade 10 Students in DEGMNHS,” General Academic Strand, Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial
National High School, Philippines, since March 2018.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the computer technology utilization in the
classroom in terms of students’ grades, motivation, attitude and attendance. Technology surveys were
used to measure teacher’s factor, student’s factor, and overall use of technology in the classroom. The
respondents of this study consisted of Grade 10 teachers and Grade 10 students of Don Eulogio de
Guzman Memorial National High School. The study used the Experimental Design to provide insight
from cause to effect analysis by administering pre-test and post test and demonstrating what outcomes
occur when a particular factor is manipulated. The results of the study indicated that teachers’
technology use, students’ technology use, and the overall technology use depended on how will the
teacher used the technology in the classroom. For the most part, the use of technology was motivating for
the students, but it had no significant positive effect on their grades and/or attendance, including “at
risk” students. In addition, the study found that the continued use of technology was low among the
teachers in the results and findings. These results suggest that for technology to be effective and make
changes in students, grades, motivation, attitude, and attendance the school must be prepared for
technology use in the classroom. Therefore, the researchers designed an advertisement or information
bulletin to disseminate information how the computer-based teaching or by using technologies available
nowadays help our lessons and instructional tools effective and efficient.
