Ext. Fire Pit at a Campsite - Night

Nigel and Tyler are sitting beside their campfire at a

backcountry camp site. They are sitting in folding chairs. There
is a tent in the background and behind that a lake. The camp
site is surrounded by old growth trees and fireflies flickering
in the night.

NIGEL WATCHING THE FLAMES FLICKER IN THE FIRE PIT

Nigel
Tyler, I think the fire is at the perfect point to roast
marshmallows for s’mores.

TYLER TURNS QUICKLY TO LOOK AT NIGEL

Tyler
No, we need the flames to go down so we can access the embers
below to roast the perfect marshmallow to a nice golden colour.

NIGEL SIGHS AND LOOKS AT TYLER

Nigel
But if we have to wait that long I will be too tired to roast
marshmallows and will just want to go to bed.

TYLER FOCUSING ON THE FLAMES ROLLS HIS EYES BEFORE TURING TO

NIGEL
Tyler
Nigel. It is only eight o’clock, the sun has barely set and you
are all ready thinking about going to bed? Let’s stay up late
and watch the stars and enjoy the camp fire.

NIGEL BEING IMPATIENT AND GRABS THE STICKS TO ROAST MARSHMALLOWS

Nigel
But I want a s’more now so I am going to roast it on the flames,
it will be super quick..

Tyler
(cuts off Nigel’s sentence)
But if you roast it now it will be burnt and all black. That
won’t make the perfect s’more.

(Sarcastically)
I know how to roast a marshmallow. I will be careful not to burn
the marshmallow. You will see.

Tyler
(Annoyed)
Uh huh.

Nigel PUTS A MARSHMALLOW ON THE STICK AND PUTS IT NEAR THE BASE
OF THE FLAME. NOT QUITE IN THE FIRE BUT CLOSE ENOUGH.

Tyler
Uhhh Nigel.

Nigel
Yes Tyler?

Tyler POINTS TO Nigel’S MARSHMALLOW THAT HAS NOW CAUGHT ON FIRE

(Yells Loudly)
Ahh! It is on fire!

NIGEL PULLS HIS STICK OUT OF THE FIRE AND BLOWS OUT THE FLAME

Tyler
(Annoyed)
Yeah, I told you we had to wait for the flames to die down or
else you would burn your marshmallow.

Nigel
(Rolls his eyes)
Yes Ok, You were right.
