1. Introduction
So, who was Dr Sebi?
Alfredo Darrington Bowman, better known as Dr Sebi, was a Honduran herbalist
and self-proclaimed healer. He had a colourful life, he was often accused of
being a fraud. He was arrested several times for various reasons, including
money laundering charges. He, through all of this remained faithful to his beliefs
about foods and an Alkaline diet. Throughout his life he amassed a huge
following of believers and his diet and teachings are still popular to this day.
Born in Ilanga, Honduras, 26 th November 1933, he died on the 6 th August 2016
aged 82, while being held under arrest. Many people thought his death was not a
coincidence and was part of a conspiracy to silence him as he was outspoken
about conventional medicines and large drug companies.
As purists will know Dr Sebi would never recommend any foods that are not on
his list of specifically recommended foods. These foods are known a Cell food.
If you are looking to follow the Alkaline food life style diet you need to be
aware of these recommended foods. This little guide is designed to help you
choose these foods.
The Dr Sebi food list is very specific; however, it surprisingly doesn’t contain
many very popular plant derived/based foods that many people recognize as
super whole foods. One surprising food that does not appear in this list is Garlic,
Dr Sebi regarded it to be dangerous and to be avoided at all costs.
Dr Sebi did not approve of hybrid foods, i.e. plant foods that are derived from
unnatural cross pollination of two or more different plants. These he regarded as
genetically modified.
The reasoning for this was he believed that hybrids altered the PH balance and
the electrical composition, thus altering the genetic make-up to the detriment of
the human body.
Here is a list of Dr Sebi approved foods, that are recognized as suitable and safe
for an Alkaline diet for the human body.
