Assessment Plan
Reliability
Reliability is the degree to which students’ results remain consistent over replications of an
assessment procedure (Nitko & Brookhart 2019).
I honestly believe that my multiple choice questions are all reliable because the ways to interpret
the information is simple and understandable. There should not be any confusion with the
information that is being presented. The question clearly aligns with the learning objectives as
well.
Validity
Validity is the soundness of your interpretations and uses of students’ assessment results (Nitko
& Brookhart 2019).
I am confident that my possible interpretations of the results would be valid in determining if the
student truly learned the information. I would take the initiative to verify the students’
understanding by reviewing previous work or assignments that are related to the objectives of the
assessment. This will give me a better understanding of the student’s knowledge base.
Differentiation
Differentiated instruction refers to instructional practices that are altered to meet the needs,
abilities, interests, and motivations of students (Nitko & Brookhart 2019).
I believe that my questions address differentiation and accommodations. Note values can be
taught in several different ways to better suit the learning style of the individual.
Improving Student Learning
To improve student learning, I will be prepared to extend help on things they would need to
improve on. Depending on how well the students did on the questions, I will also be prepared to
address the questions that the students missed the most. This will be an indication that I will need
to either alter my teaching strategy or alter the question on the assessment. All assessments
should be student objective focus.
Improving Future Assessments
For future assessment questions, I can make sure that they address higher levels in the Bloom
Taxonomies.
