a. What is the approval process for such requests?
Operational leadership determines if the support requested is feasible and if resources are
available to support federal, state, or local law enforcement. All support requests require
approval from the Chief of Law Enforcement Operations and the Deputy Chief or their
designee.
b. Who at your agencies is responsible for approving such requests?
Each operational office has its own approval process for requests. For instance, in the
U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), Sector Chiefs may approve the requests in the field. At
Headquarters, the Chief or Deputy Chief of Operations, or their designee, may approve
USBP support requests. As for Office of Field Operations (OFO),.
¢. Have your agencies deployed personnel or equipment to any jurisdictions that did
not request assistance?
No, CBP has only deployed assets and resources as requested.
d. Have any state or local entities requested that you not deploy personnel or
equipment in response to the demonstrations?
‘Not that we are aware of, no.
