1Rationale
National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has come out with very high level of expectations so
far quality of engineering programmes is concerned. Initially NBA announced the relevance
of outcome based education with accreditation process in 2013. Later on based on the
experiences and feedback it evolved a complete process of accreditation of engineering
programmes in current shape. Accreditation process is still evolving in the country and it is
marching towards excellence.
The technical institutions are expected to be managed professionally. So, the NBA excepts
institutions and their departments to have vision, mission and strategic plan. It also expects
the engineering programmes to have well formulated programme educational objectives
(PEOs). This webinar on Vision, Mission and Programme Educational Objectiveswill
develop ability to prepare the institute and department to satisfy the requirement of criterion I
of self-assessment report (SAR).
