Dear Sir or Madam,

Since 2013, the Fort Bend Independent School District has been celebrating the diversity of its students by
hosting an annual Diversity Conference. In its six years, the Diversity has grown from an adult run event that
lectured students to appreciate and embody their diverse surroundings, into a convention organized by
the students of Fort Bend ISD, for the students of Fort Bend ISD. Along with emphasizing the need to
appreciate Fort Bend ISD’s diverse demographics, these student run conventions have focused on several
important discussions around the community such as youth advocacy, the need for togetherness, and the
benefits of compassionate citizens. Although several students have already found an active voice and
passion for change in the local community, these conferences further target Fort Bend students that are still
attempting to find a voice within the local community. As this conference empowers students to transform
into leaders of their community, the Diversity Conference also allows current student leaders to apply and
develop their skills of management and organization, as it allows these students leaders to experience the
perplexity of emotions and tasks one must endure to create an impactful conference.

This year, the Student Voice Advisory Network, a group of 44 students dedicated to youth empowerment
and leadership in the district, will organize the event. As a group, VOICEs has decided to make this year’s
focus Mental Health, with a theme of “Mental Health has Joined the Chat”. By doing so, these young
leaders hope to educate their fellow students of the need to start a conversation regarding mental health
problems and methods to treat these problems. Along with this conference, the VOICEs leaders plan to
create a lasting impact on the Fort Bend community by creating challenges and spirit weeks revolving
around mental health.

Within this packet, you’ll find information regarding the Diversity Conference 2019, both as an event and an
organization. We are reaching out to you specifically in hopes of you becoming a sponsor for this
extraordinary conference. We are confident that our flexible sponsorship levels will provide your
organization with a unique opportunity to reach a valuable and expansive audience. We appreciate your
consideration and hope to work with you to create a mutually beneficial and long- lasting relationship.

Warm Regards,
Sara Faulkner Rahul Shah

ABOUT STUDENT VOICES
The Student Voice Advisory Network consists of 44 empowered students that want to see a
change in their local community. As these students bring their perspectives and thoughts
directly to the Board of Trustees, Superintendent, and several other Fort Bend leaders, they try
to create a positive change in their schools. Along with representing the students at a district
level, this group hosts an annual Diversity Conference hoping to transform a specific issue in
their communities.

OUR MISSION
The 2019 Diversity Conference focuses on the impacts of mental health problems and
solutions students can access in Fort Bend ISD. Along with helping students realize the need to
spark a conversation about mental health issues in the youth, this conference also focuses on
the continuing that conversation in their personal lives.

OUR IMPACT
The Diversity Conference has a very specific role in the Fort Bend community: To inform
students about an ongoing problem in the community, support them by giving students
resources to tackle the problem, and ensure that students leave with a variety of tools to help
find a solution to the targeted problem. For the past six years, we have continued to find new
methods of creating a lasting influence of our ordeals by hosting weekly challenges, monthly
spirit weeks, and interacting with students at their schools.
FORT BEND ISD DEMOGRAPHICS
When you sponsor us, you sponsor a diverse group of people passionate about
various topics to ensure that the world changes for the better.

A Diverse Community
Fort Bend ISD takes pride in its diversity by appreciating the
various cultures it houses. As they celebrate the differences
within their student body, Fort Bend also encourages minority
communities to garner a voice in the district.
