SCHOOL HEAD TO PFNHS

‘CCTVs will be the eyes that watch on you’

Eyes on you.

Having solved problems on students’ security, skipping of classes, unwanted entry of strangers
and rumble of students, the installation of the school’s four closed-circuit televisions (CCTVs) got
upgraded as two 42-inch Light Emitting Diode (LED) TVs were set in the school’s guard house and
principal’s office.

“Our school is the 1st public school that installed CCTV to ensure the school’s security and be the
eyes that watch on you,” School Principal Engr. Danilo A. Casas said in an interview.

The CCTVs are located in four ‘strategic’ areas within the school vicinity: #PFNHS grounds,
school canteen, gate one and the principal’s office.

“There is a possibility to expand the vision of CCTV all over the corners of the PFNHS for the
students’ security,” Engr. Casas said.

School custodian Leo R. Villacruz monitors the CCTV every minute while Engr. Casas rewinds it
every hour to review the footages in full screen.

Villacruz tells that the important cases caught on camera involve a hit-and-run incident, rude acts
of street children such as throwing rocks and behaving violently.

PFNHS alumni members donated the CCTVs last 2016 which was then followed by other schools
after they’ve known that the CCTVs were rechargeable, Engr. Casas added.

The school plans to add four more CCTV cameras which will be set up in the food stalls, Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) room, new Junior High School building and gate two.
