The development of
innovative technologies
has an impact on our way of life and
offers new options for our living
and working environment.
This specifically applies for the electrical installation that is the heart of every
building. Today, many options are available to increase the flexibility of an
installation, improve the comfort of the occupants and reduce the energy
consumption in the building.
Qbus automation products and solutions are customised for your building.
Qbus offers you an endless platform of options that meet your specific
requirements and hence satisfy our customers’ most demanding needs.

The Qbus modules

Constitute a single and straightforward integrated system
instead of separate control solutions.
As compared to conventional electrical installations, the
intelligent Qbus building control system offers noteworthy
benefits.
All the different functional subsystems within your home are
seamlessly integrated via a 2-wire bus.
Communication between all these systems runs
over this bus and is driven by a powerful central
controller. This allows the subsystems to interact
in an optimum and energy efficient manner;
something that is virtually impossible with
conventional technology.
The system allows a large number of different
functions to interact, including:
Lighting | Heating | Cooling | Ventilation |
Shutter control | Security | Energy control |
Central automation | Audio | Access control

Switch modules

REL04 4-channel switch module

Module for DIN rail, suitable for switching four circuits. The relay module has 4 potential free normal open contacts
with which a circuit of max 16A at 230V (cosj=1) may be switched. These are 4 independently operating contacts that
have each been allocated their own function by means of the Qbus software.
REL04 does not have a specific function. The module is capable of performing all switching functions: monostable
(e.g. a door bell), bistable (On/Off), timer, interval, etc.
An ROL02P module or REL08 is required to control motors!
Contactors must be added for heavy inductive loads (TL lamp transformers) with a great capacity or if two-pole
applications are to be connected. The relay module will then activate the contactor coil.

ROL02P 4-channel shutter module with positioning

Module for DIN rail, suitable for controlling and positioning two shutters. The shutter module has 2 Up/Down outputs
(2 shutters can be connected to the ROL02P).
The shutter motors connected to the ROL02P must be 230V AC motors, with a minimum load of 40VA and a
maximum load of 500VA. The shutter motors must also have limit switch contacts. The ROL02P does not allow to
simultaneously control an Up and a Down contact for the same shutter. The minimum run time for a connected
shutter must be 6 seconds, the maximum run time 22 minutes.
Each shutter on the ROL02P can be positioned between 0% and 100% of the run time. An internal calibration
mechanism calibrates the shutter each time it is fully raised or lowered (each time the two limit switch contacts are
activated). This ensures the required shutter position remains accurate over time.

REL08 8-channel switch module

Module for DIN rail, suitable for controlling eight circuits. The relay module has 8 potential free two-way contacts
allowing to control a circuit of max 16A at 230V (cosj=1). These are 8 independently operating contacts that can
each be allocated an own function by means of the Qbus software.
The REL08 does not have a specific function. The module can perform all switching functions: monostable (e.g. a
door bell), bistable (On/Off), timer, interval, etc.
The REL08 may also be used to control motors.
Contactors must be added for heavy inductive loads (TL lamp transformers) with a great capacity or if two-pole
applications are to be connected. The relay module will then activate the contactor coil.

Software: for configuration, visualisation, control, energy management
and videophony.
Qbus System Manager III Configuration
The Qbus System Manager is the software used to configure the Qbus system. The Qbus System Manager can be
used to create outputs (On/Off, timers, scenarios, clock times, alarms ...) and determine how the outputs are to be
controlled (which button on the switch/ Movement detector etc. activates which output).
All these settings are saved to a .qdb (Qbus DataBase) file that can be stored in the Controller.

The Qbus System Manager is free. The latest version can be downloaded from our web site http://www.qbus.be/
english/Downloads/software.asp . Once the System Manager has been downloaded, you will have a shortcut to the
program on your desktop.

OPGELET:

De SYSTEM MANAGER III wordt ALLEEN gebruikt om CTD-controllers (CTD01, CTD01E, CTD02, CTD02E,
CTD03, CTD03E) te programmeren, EN IS NIET COMPATIBEL met CTL-controllers (CTL16, CTL32. CTL64,

EQOmmand and Eco Dashboard – Control, Visualisation and Energy Management

The EQOmmand software runs on a Windows PC and allows you to control and visualise a Qbus installation in an
intuitive, user-friendly manner. The customer is able to create floor plans, allocate outputs to specific rooms, etc. in
an easy way. Furthermore, IP cameras that support the mjpeg format can be easily linked to the EQOmmand.

The EQOmmand is equipped with the Eco Dashboard. Via the Eco Dashboard all outputs can be viewed and compared
in the form of a graph or a meter. It is also possible to display electricity, water, gas and other metres with a pulse
output.

The EQOmmand is also available in an EQOmmand Pro version. This version does not allow you to draw floor plans
but you can display various statuses (lighting, heating, windows/doors…) in various areas / rooms / flats / buildings
on different controllers via a synoptic table. This version is intended for larger buildings in which various controllers
are installed and in which all the outputs must be visualised / controlled on a single screen.

The EQOmmand application can be downloaded at www.eqommand.com. To activate the controller in order to be
able to communicate with the EQOmmand, it is necessary to purchase the EQOmmand licence card (1 licence per
controller). One controller can be controlled by no more than 4 EQOmmands simultaneously.

SIP Plugin for EQOmmand

The EQOmmand SIP plug-in kit allows you to connect SIP compatible outposts, telephones, and the like. The SIP
protocol is a standard protocol for transmitting audio and video. Urwith, 2NHelios, Mobotix, Grandstream, Polycom
are just a few examples of businesses that already offer SIP compatible products.
To activate the SIP Plugin you must purchase a SIP licence card (1 licence per computer / Home Navigator that is used
as a videophony set).

EQOweb
The EQOweb web server runs on the Ethernet port of a CTD01E(+), CTD02E, CTD03E Controller. This web server
can be accessed on the Internet with a browser. Outputs can be controlled or read by means of the EQOweb. The
EQOweb web server can be configured with the Qbus System Manager III.

Smart Switches in Niko®, Bticino® and CJC® version

Behind the Niko®, BTicino® or CJC® push-buttons of the Qbus SWC04 switch there
is a PCB full of electronic intelligence. By means of the 4 push-buttons alone the
switch can forward 8 commands to the controller.

It also issues commands if you so require; via the integrated light cell, the digital
thermometers, the universal infrared receiver and the volumetric movement detector
any change in the environment is immediately and precisely forwarded to the
controller.

The switch is also very communicative. Via its 3-colour LEDs it indicates what is
going on by means of colour and intensity. Red for an alarm, blue in night mode,
pink in the girls’ room or bright in the night hall. Or the reverse as the programming
allows you to select your colours yourself, as you would do for the wallpaper or
curtains. The switch operates just like all other Qbus components via a two-wire
bus: reliable and easy to install.

All versions have white LEDs in the corner of the push-button and a red LED in the middle of the switch indicating that the switch is active.

CJC® switch with infrared receiver

The Infrared version is the 3-button version of the Zita series, in which the bottom button is replaced with an infrared (IR) receiver.
Up to 12 outputs can be controlled by means of the IR with a universal remote control. The IR codes can be learned via the switch or can be downloaded from a
database.

While the codes are being read the colour of the middle LED will change to guide you through the process.
For more information about the reading of IR codes, refer to the Qbus User Manual. The option to learn IR codes allows you to control a Qbus system by means of
various remote controls.

CJC® switch with Movement detector
The version with movement alarm is the 1-button version of the Zita series, in which the button is replaced with a
movement alarm. This movement alarm has a diameter of only 9mm and a range of approximately 7 metres at an
angle of 110 degrees. This switch does not have a LED in the middle of the switch but a light cell capable of
measuring the light level in the relevant space. The Qbus software also allows you to define that the relevant output
must only be activated if a specific light level or a specific volume of movement or a combination of both is reached.
