Bullying: A matter of Problem for All!!!

Bullying!! What is this word? What does it means? What importance it holds in real world?
Well, it is a serious problem of today’s generation. Bullying has not received prominence
importance of being cool at a school/college/university/workplace but it had serious impact on
the life of many individuals. I believe that we all face the problem of bullying which starts from
our childhood and moves towards our adulthood. Academic Life is the place where you face
bullying a lot. It’s a serious matter for all because not only the person who is being bullied has to
face issues but the individual who is bullying others is also a matter of concern. So, this
informative piece is going to help you a lot in understanding bully and what are the situations
that make them prone to such negative acts.

What makes someone become a bully?

Have you ever thought over it in your life? No! Let’s discuss this over here…Well you must all
agree that no one is born as a bad person but it is the situation that makes them do wrong things.
There are different reasons behind a person becoming a bully:

 Superiority: Many of the individuals are not given importance in their life due to which
they feel that becoming a bully is the best means of gain power or superiority. They
develop a feeling of insecurity with the intention of hurting others.
 Past or current life situation: Traumatic or stressful situation often makes a person
become bully because not everyone has the strength to overcome the problem positively.
The prevalence of stress in their life makes them violent as they find it relaxing.
 Isolation: Another aspect that makes a person bully is ignore or isolation from loved
ones such as family and friends. In this era, everyone has become so busy that they don’t
have time to spend with the person leading them to isolation. Spending time alone makes
them prone to bad or violent environment building negative aspects in their behaviour.
 Just of Feel Popular or Cool: This is worst because a person becomes bully just to make
himself/herself popular or to look cool.

There is an interesting reality that more than 60% of bully is male. This is because they are
discouraged to show their emotions to the society. So, the boys especially teenagers start to
respond to their emotions with aggressive behaviour. They have low self-esteem and believe that
the negative attitude and behaviour is the only way to grab attention.

So, if you see any bully around, you should think of positive ways in which you can handle him
or her. Believe on the phase “No one is born bad; it’s the society that makes them bad”. Try to
help them in the positive manner and assist them in the best possible way so that this act of
bullying can be minimised from society to utmost extent.
