This Week’s Assignment focuses on the Participants ability to identify the need of Machine
Learning in the given Problem Statement(s). The candidate shall give a brief summary on the asked
questions to evaluate the understanding.

Problem 1:
Identification of species of flowers is essential in day to day life, as flowers play important in
today's Medical Science. They are used in many of the diseases curing processes. Here the problem
concerns the identification of IRIS flower species based on flower attribute measurements. Classification
of IRIS data set would be discovering patterns from examining petal and sepal size of the IRIS flower and
how the prediction was made from analyzing the pattern to from the class of IRIS flower.

a) Is a Machine Learning Needed in the above given Problem statement? If Yes, What type of
Algorithm is needed? If not? Why is this not a ML Problem, What else can be used to solve
it? Specify a type of Algorithm (ML or No ML) used to solve this problem? Elaborate in no
less than 100 Words

Problem 2:
The publicly available Uber ride information dataset provides a large amount of valuable data
around traffic, transit time, peak pickup localities, and more. Analyzing this data is useful not just in the
context of Uber but also in providing insight into urban traffic patterns and helping us plan for the cities
of the future. Uber is using big data to perfect its processes, from calculating Uber’s pricing, to finding
the optimal positioning of cars to maximize profits. We need to use public Uber trip data to discuss
building a real-time example for analysis and monitoring of car GPS data.
