FLIGHT COMPARTMENT
Description
The flight compartment extends from the front pressure
bulkhead at station X110.00 to the fixed bulkhead at
station 182.00. In this area provision is made for the
pilot’s and copilot’s seats. An observer’s seat is installed
on the L.H. side of the flight compartment door threshold.

Furnishings
General furnishings in the flight compartment include wall
panels, ceiling panels and floor coverings.
The flight compartment furnishing panels are made from
moulded polycarbonate material. The panels are secured
to the structure with velcro tape or by a combination
of velcro tape, screws, bolts and panel mounted
components.
The emergency light panel is secured to the structure by
installation of the light and by velcro tape. The map tables
are bolted to the structure through the side panels and
assist in securing the panels to the aircraft structure.
The flight compartment is fully carpeted and all furnishing
panels are colored when moulded.

is detected from the satellite and a position is calculated,
the 121.5/243.0 MHz transmissions are used to home in
on the crash site. Because aircraft communication radios
are not capable of receiving 406.025 MHz transmissions,
the only method of monitoring the ELT is the blinking
cockpit light, the buzzer or the 121.5/243.0 MHz
transmissions which may be monitored on the aircraft
communication transceiver.
The switch below the ELT cockpit light allows you to tum
the unit on for testing and to reset the unit. You cannot
“disarm” or disable the unit from the cockpit. Cockpit
operation is limited to deactivating the ELT after it has
been activated, or manually activating the ELT.
The C406-1 series ELT’s are housed in a high impact fire
resistant polycarbonate plastic case. The ELT unit is able
to withstand extremely harsh environments. Units, exactly
like yours, have been subjected to numerous 500g shock
pulses, 1000 pound crush weights and severe penetrator
tests, and continue to operate normally. Continued
