650BC : Indo Aryans spread in entire North India till Bangladesh except North

322 BC : Chandragupta Maurya establishes Mauryan Empire destroying Nandas. His
empire has
Gujarat, Rajasthan and Indus Valley. His empire borders with
Diadochi Empire in North West.
303 BC : Mauryan empire expands in North West occupying Pakistan and Afghanistan.
300 BC : Diadochi is replaced with Seleucid Empire in North West border of Mauryan
Empire. Chola Kingdom is expanding in Kaveri
region.
279 BC : Mauryan Empire expands south bordering the Chola Kingdom and Kerala.
268 BC : Emperor Ashoka rule begins.

185 BC : Pushyamitra Shunga kills last Mauryan king and converts Mauryan Empire
into Shunga Dynasty.
179 BC : Greco Bactrian Demetrius invades Indian Subcontinent and forms Indo Greek
Kingdom or Yavana Kingdom comprising regions of Sindh,
Afghan, Pakistan, and Haryana. Shunga dynasty size is reduced due to

81 AD : Kushan Empire captures Indo-Parthia and borders of the Parthian Kingdom.
It now borders with Indo- Scythians near Rajasthan,
Gujarat and Sindh.
96 AD : Kushan Empire captures entire Indo-Scythian territories thus entering
Indian Subcontinent. Western Sataraps or Kshaharatas are Saka
clan rulers who ruled Gujarat and little parts of Maharashtra thus bordering Kushan
Empire in its north and Satavahanas in its south and east.
128 AD : Kushan Empire expands into India till Benares.
131 AD : Western Sataraps extend into Satavahana Kingdom to regain their lost
territories in Maharashtra.
204 AD : Chera, Chola and Pandiyan kingdoms are destroyed and the Kalabhra rules
Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Northern Malabar coast is ruled by
Kadamba rulers. Andra, Pallava and Chutu, Kuntala and Traikutaka kingdoms are
split out of Satavahana Kingdom.
207 AD : Sassanid Kingdom is formed in southern part of Parthia.
221 AD : Satavahana Kingdom is replaced by the Brahmin Vakataka Kingdom by
Vindhyashakti.
227 AD : Sassanid's captures entire Parthia and borders with the Kushan empire
near Caspian sea and Balochistan.
231 AD : Sassanid empire expands upto Eastern Parts of Caspian Sea thus reducing
the size of Kushan Empire.
251 AD : Sassanid empire expands till Indus Valley thus reducing Kushanas power
only into Indian Subcontinent.
280 AD : Gupta Empire is formed in Magadha region with Pataliputra as capital by
Sri Gupta.
336 AD : Gupta Empire expands and borders with Kushan in its North West and
Vakataka in South.
342 AD : Gupta Empire destroys Kushan empire and borders with the Sassanid Empire
in the Indus Valley and Western Sataraps in Gujarat.
351 AD : Kamarupa or Pragjyotisha Kamarupa first historical kingdom of Assam is
formed. Bordering with Gupta Empire.
355 AD : Samudragupta conquers eastern coastal areas of Vakatakas and Kalinga
kingdom and Andra Kingdom and defeats Pallava King
Vishnugopa in battle. But Pallava Kingdom survives. Chutu state is made into Ganga
Kingdom with Kolar as its capital. Gangas captures some parts of Pallavas and
borders with Kalabhras and Kadambas.
394 AD : Guptas destroys the Western Sataraps and captures Gujarat. Traikutakas
expand north till Narmada and captures some parts of
Vakatakas.
426 AD : Hephthalites occupy the Bactrian areas of Sassanid Empire thus reducing
its size for first time in history.
451 AD : Hephthalites enters Gupta Empire in North West and captures entire
Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi areas thus reducing size of Gupta
empire for first time.
496 AD : Hephthalites destroys Gupta Empire and advances till Pataliputra and
captures northern parts of the Vakatakas.
The Eastern Gangas emerges in the present day Odisha region thus
reducing Vakataka kingdom size. Guptas are confined into
Bangladesh region and parts of West Bengal and Bihar. Vakatakas are confined into
Deccan plateau surrounded by Traikutaka, Kuntala, Western
Gangas, Pallavas, Andhras and the Eastern Gangas in South.
Kingdom of Nepal is established bordering Hephthalites.
511 AD : Kalachuri's rules the northern part of the Traikutaka and Vakataka
kingdom. Jayashima the first Chalukyan King rules the Kuntala,
southern part of the Vakataka and Traikutaka kingdoms. Thus Vakatakas are
destroyed.
550 AD : Gupta Empire is destabilised with Bhanugupta as last known Gupta.
551 AD : Eastern Ganga breaks into four small kingdoms Dakshina in North, Kongoda
in East, Nala in West and Kalinga in South.
564 AD : Hephthalites are destroyed by the Western Gokturks in the Bactrian
region. The Hephthalites in Indian subcontinent are
broken into several kingdoms. Kingdom of Kashmir, Multan and Sindh borders with
Sassanid Empire. Gujarat becomes Vallabhi kingdom and Gurjar
Kingdom is formed in north of Gujarat. Harsha's Empire is formed.
With fall of Hephthalites into several kingdoms the successor kingdoms of Guptas
extended till Benares.
567 AD : Western Gangas and the Kadamba are conquered by the Chalukyan Kingdom.
570 AD : Prophet Muhammad is

Tamil Nadu. Chalukyas occupies Kalabhra territories in Western
coast of India. Pandyan Kingdom revives in the Madurai and rules regions South

602 AD : Tibet kingdom is formed with Lhasa as its capital.
604 AD : Western Gokturks power declines.
606 AD : Harshavardhana expands his kingdom capturing the Magadha including
Bangladesh thus bordering Kamarupa
and the four kingdoms of Kongoda, Kalinga, Nala and Dakshina.
611 AD : Chalukyan King Pulikesin 2 conquers the Kalachuri kingdom thus bordering
with Harsha's Kingdom beyond Narmada river. Chalukyas also bordered
with Gurjar and Vallabhi in its north west and Pallava, Andhra and
Pandyas in south.
630 AD : Chalukyan Pulikesin 2 expands his empire capturing Andhra and some parts
of present day Chattisgarh from Harsha's Empire.
631 AD : Vengi Chalukyan Kingdom is formed in Andhra.
632 AD : Rashidun Caliphate is established in Saudi

643 AD : Pallava King Narashima Varman destroys Chalukyan dynasty and kills
Pulikesin 2 expanding Pallava kingdom in entire south of Krishna
river with Pandyan Kingdom as allies. Sassanids face threat from Rashidun
Caliphate.
Chalukyas of Vengi survives.
648 AD : Kingdom of Harsha breaks into Kannauj, Magadha, Gauda in Bangladesh, Odra
in Odisha region. Somvamsis rule in Chattishgarh region and
Kalinga in Kalinga region.
651 AD : Sassanid empire reduced to present day Pakistan, Balochistan and Afghan
by the rising Rashidun Caliphate and destroyed eventually.
656 AD : Chalukyas are revived by the Vikramaditya 1.
661 AD : Ummayad Caliphate replaces Rashidun

683 AD : Sri Vijaya Kingdom is established in South Sumatra.
713 AD : Sindh and Multan comes into Kannauj rule.
726 AD : Kannauj extends into Magadha and borders witht the Gauda in Bangladesh.
736 AD : Kannauj extends into Gauda.
741 AD : Kannauj is ruled entirely by Kashmir kingdom except Gurjar.
751 AD : Magadha and Gauda areas are now ruled by Pala Kingdom which borders
Kashmir Kingdom near Benares. Rashtrakutas emerges in
northern part of Chalukyan Kingdom. Gurjara Prathiharas extends till Narmada river
thus bordering the Rashtrakutas. Ummayad Caliphate is replaced by Abbasid Caliphate
bordering Kashmir and Gurjar
757 AD : Chalukyan kingdom is transformed into Rashtrakuta Kingdom except the
Chalukyas of Vengi.
761 AD : Kashmir's control over Gangetic plains ended. Kannauj is limited to
present day Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand.
770 AD : Rashtrakutas annex Vengi from Chalukyas.
781 AD : Rashtrakutas rules Kannauj.
811 AD : Gurjar Prathiharas captures Kannauj from Rashtrakutas and the Vallabhi.
Gurjar borders with the Pala kingdom and Rashtrakutas and Kashmir.
815 AD : Chalukyas of Vengi re-emerges.
839 AD : Gurjara Prathiharas expand till Pataliputra shrinking Pala Kingdom and
completely borders the Abbasid Caliphate in its western
part.
842 AD : Tibet Empire begins to decline.
849 AD : Chola Kingdom is revived in Kaveri region by Vijayalaya Chola.
862 AD : Sistan Empire is broken from Abbasid Caliphate thus bordering Kashmir,
Multan and Sindh which are now independent.
876 AD : Sistan expands till Caspian Sea. Samanid Empire is formed in north of
Sistan.
891 AD : Gurjar Prathihara expand beyond Pataliputra and for first time annexes
North Eastern parts including Kamarupa. Pala
kingdom loses its northern parts and shrinks in size.
901 AD : Samanid Empire replaces the Sistan thus bordering the Multan, Sindh and
Kashmir parts.
904 AD : Cholas replaces Pallavas. Chola Kingdom borders Vengi Chalukyas.
911 AD : Cholas annexes Pandiyan Kingdom and their rule extends till Kanyakumari
and southern most parts of Kerala.
915 AD : Gurjar Prathiharas loses their expansion. Palas regains Magadha. Kamarupa
becomes independent. Southern part of Prathihara kingdom
brokes into Malwa, Chandela and Kalachuri kingdoms.
947 AD : Abbasid is replaced by Buyid in Middle East. Caliphate begins to break.
951 AD : Krishna 3 a Rashtrakuta king extended his rule till Kaveri and ruled
Thondaimandalam thus subjugating Cholas.
970 AD : Cholas revives from Rashtrakuta influence and Kerala is free from
Rashtrakutas.
972 AD : Gurjar is broken into Gujarat, Chauhan in Rajasthan, Tomara near Ganga
river. Still Prathiharas rule till Benares.
974 AD : Rashtrakutas are replaced by Kalyani Chalukyas. Malwa becomes independent
and is in northern border of Chalukyas.Rashtrakutas are
confined to southern most part of present day Karnataka surrounded by Chola,
Kerala and Chalukyan kingdoms.
983 AD : Rashtrakutas are completely wiped out and their small region is annexed
to Chalukyan kingdom.
985 AD : Raja Raja Chola comes to power.
991 AD : Present day Tamilnadu and Kerala comes under Chola rule.
994 AD : Northern Part of Sri Lanka comes under Chola rule.
996 AD : Palas captures Kamarupa in North East of India.
998 AD : Samanids are replaced by Ghaznavids. Mahmud of Ghazni comes to power.
999 AD : Khara Khanid Khanate formed on Transoxania north of Ghaznavid. Samarqand
is in their control.
1001AD : Vengi is conquered by Raja Raja Chola.
1009AD : Ghazni invades and captures Multan and Gurjar and borders Tomara, Chauhan
and Gujarat. Gurjar on East survives. Kashmir and Sindh
survives.
1014AD : Rajendra Chola comes to power.
1016AD : Rajendra Chola captures southern most parts of Chalukyas.
1018AD : Rajendra Chola captures entire Sri Lanka.
1020AD : Rajendra Chola successfully does his Ganga expedition and captures Kalinga
and Bangladesh thus shrinking and cutting off Somavamsis and
Pala's from coast of Bay of Bengal.
1026AD : Rajendra Chola establishes Chola rule in Sri Vijaya Kingdom (Sumatra
island) and Malay Peninsula.
1036AD : Seljuqs breaks independent from Ghaznavid in North west of Ghaznavid while
Ghaznavid expands in Buyid empire thus shrinking it.
1037AD : Chandelas captures Benares and expands till border of Nepal. Gahadavalas
replaces Gurjars between Tomara and Chandelas.
1045AD : Seljuq's captures Iranian areas thus cutting of Ghaznavid from Buyid
Empire. Herat is Seljuq's capital.
1056AD : Seljuq's captures Buyid Empire and Baghdad is under their control.
1071AD : Ceylon is freed from Chola domination by Sinhala King VijayaBahu.
1078AD : Kalinga is free from Cholas.
1080AD : Sri Vijaya Kingdom becomes independent from Cholas.
1081AD : Palas regain their Bangladesh territories lost to Cholas.
1096AD : Khorasan breaks free from Seljuq with Herat city. Bengal breaks free from
Palas. Palas lose North East and confined to small part of present
day Bihar.
1109AD : Hoysalas emerge in present day Karnataka thus reducing Chola Kingdom size.
1126AD : Khara Khanid is replaced by Khara Khitan in Transoxania region.
1141AD : Seljuq breaks into Kerman and Fars in its southern part.
1150AD : Ghurid kingdom is establised between Khorasan and Ghaznavid
1152AD : Chauhans occupy Tomara.
1156AD : Chalukyas shrinks to small area above Hoysalas. Its territories are
occupied by Kalachuris of Kalyani and Kalinga. Southern
part of Malwa kingdom (part of present day Maharashtra) comes under Yadava Kingdom.
1162AD : Birth of Genghis Khan as

1166AD : Ghurid dynasty expands in west thus bordering Seljuq and Kerman by
conquering southern parts of Khorasan. It shrinks Ghaznavid to a

1173AD : Muhammad Ghori comes to power.
1185AD : Chalukyas regains their territories from Kalachuri Kalyani.
1187AD : Ghaznavid is overthrown by Ghurids and Sindh and Kashmir survives.
1191AD : Yadavas conquers the Chalukyan kingdom thus ending the Chalukyas forever.
1193AD : Ghurid conquers Sindh.
1195AD : Khwarezm kingdom forms in Bactrian area near Caspian Sea between Khorasan
and Kara-Khitan.
1196AD : Muhammad of Ghor invades India and captures Chauhan and Gahadavala areas.
1203AD : Ghurid expands into India annexing northern Chandela and entire regions of
Kalachuri and Pala and some parts of Bengal.
1206AD : Khwarezm entirely annexed Khorasan. Muhammad of Ghor dies.
1207AD : Khwarezm occupied parts of revived Abbasid Caliphate and parts of Ghurid.
Delhi Sultanate is formed by Sultan Qutub-Ud-Din Aibak a
Mamluk slave of Muhammad Ghori and it includes present day Pakistan and
Afghanistan. Mongol empire is established by Genghis Khan in Mongolia. Kashmir
Kingdom survives.
1217AD : Pandiyan Kingdom re-established by Jatavarman SundaraPandiyan from Cochin
to Kanyakumari and Kaveri regions are occupied by him bordering
Chola Kingdom.
1219AD : Mongols captures Kara Khitan.
1222AD : Mongols conquers Khwarezm east of Caspian Sea reducing Khwarzem empire and
bordering Delhi Sultanate ruled by Iltutmish. Kashmir survives as
it is covered by Delhi Sultanate.
1227AD : Genghis Khan

1260AD : Fragmentation of Mongol Empire begins. Regions north of Black Sea but West
of Caspian Sea are called Golden Horde of Mongols. North
West of Caspian Sea and Northern part of Transoxiana are called White
Horde of Mongols.
1263AD : Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghan and Southeastern parts near
Caspian sea are formed as IlKhanate of Mongols. Chagatai
ruled regions between Mongol empire in Tibet and China, White Horde and IlKhanate.
This includes Kashmir Kingdom.
1265AD : Delhi Sultanate expands till Bangladesh thus destroying Bengal kingdoms
and shrinking Kalinga.
1271AD : Transoxania part of Chagatai empire is made into Kaidu empire of Mongols.
1280AD : Pandyian kingdom defeats Cholas and expands till Kakatiya and Yadava
borders. Hoysalas are in its West. Mongols occupy entire China and
Korean peninsula destroying southern Song dynasty.
1291AD : Delhi Sultanate annexes Chandela. Mamluk dynasty ends and Khilji Dynasty
begins.
1307AD : Delhi Sultanate annexes Gujarat and Malwa.
1311AD : Delhi Sultanate annexes Yadava and Kakatiya kingdoms. Kalinga shrinks to
small region around Cuttack.
1312AD : Delhi Sultanate annexes Hoysala kingdom and north western parts of the
Pandiyan Kingdom.

1325AD : Muhammad Bin Tughlaq comes to power.

1440AD : Oirats occupy entire Mongol Kingdom and borders with the Ming dynasty.
1451AD : Sayyid Dynasty of Delhi Sultanate ends and Lodi dynasty begins. Andhra

1454AD : Ottoman Turks capture Constantinople.
1486AD : Bikaner is formed north of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab.
1488AD : Moghulistan emerges from Chagatai kingdom. Ladakh state is formed.
1491AD : Mongols recaptures regions from Oirats and pushes Oirats to their
homeland. Bahmani Kingdom is broken into Ahmadnagar and Berar in
North west and east respectively and Bijapur and Bahmani in South West and East
respectively.
1493AD : Bidar is formed as seperate state between Ahmadnagar, Berar, Bijapur and
Bahmani kingdoms.
1502AD : Persian Kingdom emerges West of Caspian Sea.
1505AD : Mughal forms a region in present Uzbekistan and Kabul.
1510AD : Persian Kingdom annexes Al Koynulu kingdom with Baghdad and large part of
Timurid kingdom in its North and West.
1511AD : Goa comes under Portugese control.
1519AD : Southern Bahmani becomes Golconda.
1521AD : Bahrain comes under Portugese control and soon they establish a port in
Oman to control Arabian Sea.
1526AD : Babur's victory in first battle of Panipat against Ibrahim Lodi of Delhi
Sultanate. By 1527AD Mughal Empire is established with Agra as
capital. Their Uzbek region shares borders with Khasgar and Bukhara in Central
Asia.
1532AD : Gujarat annexes Malwa region and extends its borders till Gond Kingdom.
1535AD : Sher Shah Suri begins to create Sur empire in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar
regions. Malwa becomes independent from Gujarat.
1539AD : Sher Shah captures Bengal and borders with Assam and Nepal. Golconda
annexes Bahmani kingdom.
1540AD : Marwar annexes Bikaner.
1541AD : Sher Shah captures Mughal empire beyond Lahore. Mughals are pushed back to
Kabul homeland.
Golconda annexes small part of Vijayanagara Kingdom.
1545AD : Sher Shah captured Jaisalmer, Marwar, Mewar and Malwa.
1555AD : Bengal breaks from Suri Dynasty.
1556AD : Malwa breaks from Suri Dynasty.
1557AD : Mughals recaptures territories till Agra. Marwar, Mewar and Jaisalmer
becomes free.
1558AD : Mughals recaptures till Bihar bordering with Bengal.
1559AD : Mughals captures Jaisalmer and Sindh.

1617AD : Bhutan kingdom formed.
1620AD : Bijapur annexes Bidar.
1637AD : Mughals annex Ahmadnagar.
1640AD : English East India company fortifies Madras. Vijayanagar kingdom is weak.
Mysore kingdom grows bit large.
1641AD : Goa and Ceylon comes under Portugese again.
1643AD : Khosut rule in Tibet.
1647AD : Nayak rule in Tanjore and Madurai(till Kanyakumari). Bijapur annexes
Vijayanagar kingdom parts in North. Mysore extends till Madras.
Golconda expands in south annexing territories of Vijayanagar Kingdom and as far
as Pulicat.
1659AD : Dutch occupy Ceylon from Portugese.
1675AD : Shivaji forms Maratha empire Bombay and west coast of Bijapur. Mysore
annexes Malabar coast. Pondicherry comes under French control.
1687AD : Aurangzeb's Deccan campaign. Bijapur annexed to Mughals.
1688AD : Mughals occupy Thanjavur Nayak Kingdom.
1705AD : Mughals annex Mysore kingdom with Malabar.
1706AD : Marathas expand into Narmada Valley.
1710AD : Afghan kingdom forms.
1711AD : Carnatic Nizam rule begins from Andhra till Tanjore.
1718AD : Marathas captures Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
1721AD : Bengal, Hyderabad and Mysore becomes independent of Mughals.
1723AD : Afghan expands annexing Persia and borders with Ottoman Empire near Black
Sea.
1730AD : Presians regains territories from Afghan and Afghan is reduced in size.

1757AD : Battle of Plassey.
1758AD : Rajputs in Rajasthan. Marathas capture Shahjahanabad capital of Mughals
and present day Bihar.
1766AD : Entire Bengal and Bihar comes under English. Chandranagore remains with
French.
1767AD : Andhra comes under British control.
1789AD : British begins to colonize Australia. Over the time they colonize entire
Australia.
1797AD : Ceylon comes under British control from Dutch control.
1800AD : Carnatic and Mysore comes under British control.
1801AD : Hyderabad comes under British control.
1803AD : Sikh Kingdom established in and around Amritsar.
1804AD : Orissa, Uttar Pradesh regions and Uttarkhand region and Delhi comes under
the British rule. End of Mughal rule.

1947AD : British Indian parts gains Independence. Pakistan and India formed. Jammu
and Kashmir still under British ruled by Raja of Kashmir. Burma
still under British control.
1949AD : Burma gains freedom from British.Ceylon freed from British.
1950AD : India gets Jammu and Kashmir but Pakistan illegaly occupies part of
Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan till to date.
1963AD : Indo China War and China occupies Aksai Chin of Ladakh and Pangong Tso
lake areas. Border dispute till to date.
1972AD : Indo Pakistan War and Bangladesh is formed from Pakistan.
1973AD : Ceylon renamed as Sri Lanka.
2020AD : Present India.(Several State Reorganisation took place in India but its
outer borders remained unaltered except annexation of Union
Territories and some border disputes).
