7 Things To Do When Facing The Storms Of Life

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share587

Have you ever been in a serious thunderstorm. . .or maybe even a hurricane or tornado?

I’ve never been in a tornado but I have been through a couple of hurricanes and many serious
thunderstorms.

During our time in Texas. . .it was not unusual to have thunderstorms with 60-70 mile an hour winds
and frequent lightning strikes.  I remember one storm where there were over 1,000 lighting strikes in
an hour.

When serious storms come up. . .we’re looking for a safe place.

How would you react if you were in the middle of the sea when a violent storm arose?

Mark 4:37 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the
boat, so that it was already becoming filled.”

The disciples and Jesus were crossing the Sea of Galilee when a violent storm began to rage.  The
disciples were frightened, fearful and faithless in the midst of what they perceived to be a
potentially, deadly situation.

Here are seven things we should do when facing the storms of our lives.

1.         When trouble is headed your way. . .always do what Jesus did.

When the storms of life rise up against you. . .seek to be at peace.

When troubles come your way. . .do you find yourself having sleepless nights?  Maybe tossing and
turning. . .worrying about what may or may not happen.

Don’t you think Jesus knew there was a weather pattern forming. . .about to churn into a dangerous
storm?

We should follow His direction as found in Mark 4:38 in the New King James Bible which says:

“But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You
not care that we are perishing?”

The disciples had done exactly as Jesus told them to do.

They shoved off from the shore to cross over to the other side.

The storm came about so quickly that the disciples were swamped.

I must admit this sounds far too familiar.  We have lived this experience.

We have been simply going about our business doing what we knew to be the will of God.

In the one moment things were fine.  In the next moment we found ourselves surrounded by a
storm...and taking on water.

How do we handle the storms. . .the adversities when one comes upon us suddenly?
Matthew 6:34 in the Message Bible offers some great advice:

"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may
or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the
time comes.”

I love reading about the faith and spiritual exploits of Smith Wigglesworth.  How do we handle the
storms of life and attacks of the enemy?

Listen to how Brother Wigglesworth handled one encounter with the devil.

"We were sleeping one night, when the manifestation of evil filled the room and the spirit of fear
gripped both of us. Polly was so frightened she could not open her eyes. I suddenly sat up, in the
bed, and saw the devil. I rubbed my eyes to be sure, it was him. I said, ‘Oh! It's only you.' I then
turned to Polly and told her to go back to sleep, it was nothing of consequence, and I laid my head
back down. Suddenly an overwhelming sense of peace and love filled the room and we had the
most blessed sleep ever."

In the middle of the storms of life. . .learn to let Jesus be your peace factor. If He did it for Smith
Wigglesworth, He will do it for you.

2.         You gotta know God will never tell you to do anything dangerous without a way of escape.

Mark 4:35 in the Amplified Bible says:

“On that same day [when] evening had come, He said to them, Let us go over to the other side [of
the lake].”

Do you believe the Son of God knew what was going to happen to that boat. . .before it ever
happened?

Of course He did!!

Acts 2:23 in the New Living Translation says:

“But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was
betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him.”

If Jesus knew He was going to be betrayed and crucified. . .He most certainly knew about a storm on
the Sea of Galilee.

And even if He didn’t … He knew His Father had an answer to the problem …the same way we know
God always has an answer for us.

Since Jesus knew the storm was coming. . .do you really think He would have put the disciples. .
.those closest to Him … in a position to drown and die?  Of course, not!

In everything you face in life. . .no matter how great the temptation or seemingly insurmountable
the problem may be. . .God always provides a way of escape.

1 Corinthians 10:13 says:

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not
suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to
escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
When you’re facing the storms of life. . .God is not in heaven wringing His hands wondering what is
going to happen to you next.

In Numbers 11 we read where the Children of Israel were hungry and whining.  God heard them and
told Moses how he was going to provide for them.

Numbers 11:19-20 in the New Living Translation says:

“And it won’t be for just a day or two, or for five or ten or even twenty.  You will eat it [meat] for a
whole month until you gag and are sick of it. For you have rejected the Lord, who is here among you,
and you have whined to him, saying, “Why did we ever leave Egypt?”’

Now this miracle promise was so amazing that even Moses, who had faithfully believed God in every
instance, had a hard time believing it… for He said to the Lord in Numbers 11:21:

“There are 600,000 men alone … yet you promise them meat for a whole month!  If we butcher all
our flocks …  it won’t be enough!  We would have to catch every fish in the ocean to fulfill your
promise!”

Verse 23 in the Living Bible gives us God’s overpowering response to Moses’ doubt.  One that is so
powerful, we need to take it to heart in a very personal way:

“Then the Lord said to Moses,  “When did I become weak? . .

God is not weak!  He never has been and He never will be.   It is not only His will… but He wants to
show Himself mighty on our behalf.  However … we must trust Him for it to be so.

Romans 4:20 in the Amplified Bible says:

“No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but
he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God.”

Not only is God not weak. . .He will show Himself strong on your behalf.

Psalm 68:28 in the New American Standard Version of the Bible says:

“Your God has commanded your strength; Show Yourself strong, O God, who have acted on our
behalf.

2 Chronicles 16:9 in the New King James Bible says:

“For the eyes of the  LORDrun to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on
behalf ofthose whose heartisloyal to Him….”

3.         God is not moved by the adversities we face. . .and neither should we be.

Let me give you an absolute fact. . .if you’re doing what God has called you to do . . . fulfilling His
vision for your life. . .being obedient to His divine direction. . .stuff is going to happen.

The enemy will not sit idly by.  He wants to do whatever he can to render you ineffective for and to
the Kingdom of God.

The disciples were with Jesus 24/7 yet fear made them forget who they were traveling with.  Even
the disciples had to learn to trust Jesus by the doubt-creating circumstances they faced.
I remember one airline flight where a violent thunderstorm was in the distance as the plane leveled
off at its cruising altitude.  As we drew closer and closer to the thunderstorm. . .the lady sitting next
to me became increasing nervous and fearful about the storm.

I listened quietly until she commented she didn’t want to die in a plane crash.  I confidently told her
that our plane was not going to crash. . .that we were going to arrive safely at our destination.

When she asked me how I could be so sure. . .I said:  “because I’m on this plane and God still has a
lot for me to accomplish in my life.”  Then I told her He had plans for her as well.

That’s when I discovered she loved the Lord and was a Christian but her faith was weakened because
of facing fear without faith.

Isaiah 41:10 in the Message Bible says:

“Don't panic. I'm with you.  There's no need to fear for I'm your God.  I'll give you strength. I'll help
you. I'll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you."

Even in the midst of your personal storms. . .God has a firm grip on you.

4.         When in the midst of the storms of life. . .call on Him and quote the Word.

When trouble comes. . .who will you call on for help?  Not Ghostbusters. . .but the Holy Ghost.

Psalm 86:7 says:

“In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.”

If you need the peace of God in your life. . .if you need deliverance from the storms of adversity. .
.heed the words of Jeremiah 29:12-14 in the Amplified Bible:

“Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.    Then
you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for
Me with all your heart.  I will be found by you, says the Lord, and  I will release you from
captivity. . .”

Now here’s a revelation.  You can’t quote what you don’t know.

Matthew 22:29 in the New Living Translation says:

“Jesus replied, `Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of
God.’”

All professional athletes go to training camps before playing in games that count.

You need spiritual training. . .so when you encounter the storms of life you can be victorious.  Or
else, you fate will be worse than having a bad season. Your Bible is your training manual for every
season of your life.

Spiritual preparation always precedes victories over the storms of life.

5.         When you rely on the Word. . .all your fears will leave.

The best reason not to be afraid. . .is because the Word of God tells you not to. If you’re already
counting on some of the Word … why not count on all of the Word?
I could give you numerous scriptures but I’m only going to go over four.  The truth of the matter
is. . .one could be enough.

First, Isaiah 41:10 in the Contemporary English Version says:

“Don't be afraid. I am with you. Don't tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I
protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

If you’ve been unsuccessful. . .don’t worry or fret. . .the Word says that God. . .not your relatives …
not your boss. . .co-workers. . .best friend or anyone else will make you victorious.

God brings you the victories you desire.

Second, Psalm 118:6 in the Message Bible says:

“God's now at my side and I'm not afraid; who would dare lay a hand on me?”

I love watching movies where it seems that all is lost. . .the good guy is about to go down to defeat
or perhaps, even death. . .when suddenly the cavalry shows up and the good guy is saved.

Third, Deuteronomy 20:1 in the Message Bible says:

“. . . In a few minutes you're going to do battle with your enemies. Don't waver in resolve. Don't fear.
Don't hesitate. Don't panic. God, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your
enemies, fighting to win."

Don’t waver. . .don’t doubt. . .don’t fear. . .don’t worry. . .don’t hesitate. . .don’t panic because
your God will bring you the victory.

Fourth, Psalm 139:5 in the Message Bible says:

“…You know when I leave and when I get back;  I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I'm
going to say before I start the first sentence.

“I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too—your reassuring presence,
coming and going.  This is too much, too wonderful—I can't take it all in!”

I’ve written extensively about how to deal with fear and  worry.  I strongly suggest you visit our
website www.debtfreearmy.org and search for “fear” or “worry.”  You’ll find lots of spiritual as well
as practical encouragement on how to overcome these mind games of the enemy.

6.         When facing the storms of life. . .tell your circumstances and those in your boat to be still.

Sometimes you don’t even have to tell your friends. . .more properly, known as acquaintances to be
quiet. . .because at the first sign of adversity. . .they’re gone faster than a snow man in 80 degree
sunshine.

However, for those who either comment before bolting or hang around. . .never let the second
voice distract you from what you know to be spiritual truth and your ability to allow God’s power
to work through you.

Mark 4:39 in the Amplified Bible says:

“And He arose and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, Hush now! Be still (muzzled)! And the wind
ceased (sank to rest as if exhausted by its beating) and there was [immediately] a great calm (a
perfect peacefulness).”
When Jesus got up. . .He assessed the situation. . .then He rebuked the winds and the waves.

The literal Greek translation of be still is “be muzzled” or “be gagged.”

This next point is very important.  It’s critical to note Jesus did not pray about the storm He was
facing.

Jesus spoke to the storm and commanded it to stop causing trouble.

One other point. . .

Have you ever thought about how you want others to perceive you. . .what you want them to say or
think about you?

Truthfully, I can think of several ways I’d want to be spoken of. . .but none more satisfying than
what’s found in Mark 4:41 in the Message Bible which says:

“They were in absolute awe, staggered. “Who is this, anyway?" they asked. "Wind and sea at his
beck and call!"

You’re probably thinking . . . yes, but that was Jesus.  I understand that but what about John 14:12 in
the Classic Amplified Bible which says:

“I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to
do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.”

7.         Always be willing to learn in every situation.

Philippians 4:11 in the New Living Translation says:

“I’m not saying this because I’m in any need. I’ve learned to be content in whatever situation I’m in.”

This scripture is most often misunderstood . . . it’s not a scriptural admonition to ‘settle for’ in life.

Go to www.debtfreearmy.org and search for “The Difference Between Contentment And

Complacency.”  The teaching is definitely a game changer.

I’ve gone through some things in my life. . .and I’ve wanted to learn everything I could in those
situations. . .so I would never have to experience them again.

Philippians 4:12 in the New Living Translation says:

“I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every
situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.”

God clearly wants us to learn how to live blessed, full of joy and content in every situation,
circumstance, problem and adversity that we face.

Meditate on Philippians 4:13 in the Message Bible:

“Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I
am.”

The only way God can make us who He wants us to be. . .is by our willingness to learn from every
situation we face.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 in the Message Bible says:

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy!  God of all
healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he
brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that
person just as God was there for us.”

Immediately after having breast cancer surgery on January 15, 2015 . . . the oncologist (cancer
doctor) told me I needed to take chemotherapy.

I asked why.

That wasn’t an unreasonable question because my lymph nodes were free of cancer.  The surgeon
had sent the mass removed from my chest from an incision that measured thirteen inches long, two
inches wide and two and ½ inches deep to be analyzed and the results were negative. . .no cancer
was found.

I told the oncologist I would have to pray about this decision.

As I prayed the Lord brought 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 in the Message Bible to my remembrance which
says:

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all
healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he
brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that
person just as God was there for us.”

I have used that scripture on dozens and dozens of occasions to encourage people going through the
storms of life.

This time the Lord used it to show me that the decision to take chemo was not about me but about
others …meaning the people He would put in my path that I would encourage and pray for.

I’ve been there for others nearly 30 times since my surgery. . .the latest being two days ago.

This lady had driven about 30 miles to position herself to hear what I had to say to her though she
had no idea that’s why she made the trip.  Her heart was encouraged and her faith strengthened by
our visit. God is incredibly faithful.

Your Heavenly Father is not only waiting to shield you from the storms. . .He’s ever ready to
empower and enlighten you to achieve your destiny.

And the best part. . .He’s available 24/7.

7 Keys To Release The Power In Your Hands

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share600

Hold your hands up. . .what do you see?

Something to cover your mouth when you yawn. . .something to eat with. . .something to comb your
hair with. . .something to help you work . . .something to help you play.

When God looks at your hands, He sees unlimited potential for blessings, miracles, and
prosperity.  We already have that authority as believers!
John 3:35 says:

“The Father loved the son and placed everything  in his hands.”

When the soldiers came to take Jesus captive in the Garden of Gethsemane, the first thing they did
was to bind his hands.  Why?

. . .those hands had made mud, placed it on the eyes of a blind man that allowed him to see
instantly.

. . .those hands took the five loaves and two fishes from a young man and fed thousands of people.

. . .those hands had been laid upon a great host of people who found His healing touch brought
instant relief to their sick and suffering bodies.

. . .those hands  stopped a funeral procession. . .touched the body of a young boy and gave his
mother great joy and him a new life.

. . .those hands had resurrection power -- but so do yours.

John 14:12 says:

“He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he
do; because I go unto my Father.”

In 2 Timothy 1:6 in the Amplified Bible we are encouraged to “. . .fan the flame of God through the
laying on of hands.”

“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep
burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my
hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].”

God listed very specifically in His Word how we are to use our hands to save the lost, heal the
sick, deliver the oppressed and finance the end-time harvest.

But it starts with each of us. . .realizing the power that He placed in our hands. . .

1 Timothy 4:14 in the Amplified Bible. . .Paul says:

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally
bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on
you [at your ordination].”

The gifts are given by the laying on of hands through divine direction.

Romans 11:29 in the Amplified Bible says:

“For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable. [He never withdraws them when once they are given,
and He does not change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His
call.]”

The “. . .gifts and calling of God are without repentance.”

As a born-again believer, the gifts are yours. . .but they need to be stirred up.  It’s time for you to
move outside your comfort zone.

You are given wisdom through the laying on of hands.

Deuteronomy 34:9 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Now Joshua the son of Nun  was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on
him; so the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the Lord commanded Moses.”

What God did for Joshua, He will do for you because He is no respecter of persons.

The scripture also makes a powerful point in Proverbs 3:27 which in the Message Bible says:

“Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God’s hand for that person.”

Here are seven keys to releasing the power within your hands.

Step # 1—There is something special about your hands.

Once again, hold both your hands straight out in front of you with your knuckles turned toward your
face. . .now turn your hands over. . .so you are looking at the palms of your hands.

I want you to look carefully at your hands. . .they represent  much more than skin and bones.  They
may reveal your age or the things you’ve gone through.

Your hands may be may calloused, rough, smooth, or even dirty. . .but God wants you to understand
there’s something very special about your hands.

Deuteronomy 16:15 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses,
because  the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce  and in all the work of your hands,  so
that you will be altogether joyful.”

Step # 2—Your seven day assignment.

For the next seven days. . .before you go to bed at night. . .write down at least seven ways in which
God has blessed you during the day.  You can write more. . .but at least write seven.

Once the list is complete. . .go back over it. . .thanking God for what He’s doing in your life.

Each morning when you wake up. . .pick up your list and begin praising God for what He did in your
life yesterday. . .as you lay before Him your expectations before the day.

Psalm 5:3 in the New International Version says:

“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in
expectation."

During breaks at work or your lunch meal. . .review your list and Praise God for His loving kindness.

Keep your list for the next seven days in a place where you can easily retrieve them in the days,
weeks and months ahead.

Step # 3—Please join me in this power prayer of agreement.

“Heavenly Father, in the strong name of Jesus, I ask that right now you help every person hearing
our voices to take captive every thought and any high thing that would exalt itself above the
knowledge of You.  I bind every distraction, in the name of Jesus.

“Father, I ask that every blinder come off and every shackle of religious tradition fall down as
those hearing our voice begin to see their hands the way you see them.  We rejoice Father
because our hands are an extension of Your hands.  When we extend our hand, Jesus extends His.
Thank you for letting us see this in our spirits. In Jesus name.  Amen.”

Once again, I want you to place your hands out in front of you with your knuckles toward your face. .
.now turn your palms to your face.  Repeat this procedure two more times.

God has given us two distinctive ways of ministering the gospel to people.

The first is with our “voice.” We can speak forth the Word of God which can change a person’s life
FOREVER.

We can speak to those things that are not as though they were according to Romans 4:17 in the
Classic Amplified Bible which says:

“As it is written, I have made you the father of many nations. [He was appointed our father] in the
sight of God in Whom he believed, Who gives life to the dead and speaks of the nonexistent things
that [He has foretold and promised] as if they [already] existed.”

You and I know there is life and death in the power of the tongue.

Proverbs 18:21 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit
and bear the consequences of their words.”

We also know that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Matthew 12:34 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the
fullness (the overflow, the [a]superabundance) of the heart the mouth speak.”

The other way to minister to people leads us to the next step.

Step # 4—Release the power in your hands.

God wants us to clearly understand and visualize how we can touch people’s lives through our
hands.  The scriptures are filled with miracles which were performed simply through the laying on of
hands as a point of contact.

In a quick review. . .I found 39 references to the laying on of hands.  Here are seven categories for
the laying on of hands.

First, the Holy Spirit is conveyed by the laying on of hands.

Acts 19:6 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“And as Paul laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke in [foreign,
unknown] tongues (languages) and prophesied.”

Second, miracles of physical heading through the laying on of hands.

Scripture reveals 15 verses where Jesus laid hands on the sick or speaks of the power given to the
saints for healing the sick. When Jesus laid hands on the sick ALL were healed.  The Word of God
indicates we can do the same. Here are three scriptures that cover what Jesus did and the power He
left for the saints.
Mark 16:17-18 in the King James Version says:

“And these signs will follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak
with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt
them;  they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Luke 13:11-13 in the King James Version says:

“And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed
together, and could in no ways lift herself. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said
unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and
immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.”

Acts 28:8-9 in the King James Version says:

“And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul
entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others
also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed:”

Third, spiritual deliverance came through the laying on of hands.

Luke 4:40-41 in the King James Version says:

“Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with diverse diseases brought them unto
him; and he [Jesus] laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. And devils also came out
of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he, rebuking them suffered them
not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.”

Fourth, the laying on of hands was also used to convey a spiritual blessing.

Matthew 19:13-15 in the King James Version says:

“Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray:
and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come
unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

Fifth, the laying on of hands was used to convey the spiritual authority for leadership.

1Timothy 4:14 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“Do not neglect the gift which is in you, [that special inward endowment] which was directly
imparted to you [by the Holy Spirit] by prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands upon you
[at your ordination].”

Six, the laying on of hands stirs up the gifting that’s within you.

2 Timothy 1:6 in the Classic Amplified Bible says:

“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep
burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my
hands.”

Seventh, signs and wonders are conveyed by the laying on of hands.

Acts14:3 in the King James Version says:

“Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of
his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.”

God listed very specifically in His Word how we are to use our hands to save the lost, heal the sick,
deliver the oppressed, to convey strength, to convey the gifts of the spirit,  to convey the Holy Spirit
and finance the end-time harvest.

But it starts with you. . .realizing the power that is in your hands. . .

When we are obedient to God. . .He will bless all the work of our hands with every benefit bestowed
upon us by His Son.

Your hands are desirable to God because you “remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth
thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant. . .”    (Deuteronomy 8:18).

Step # 5—Look at your hands and say the following words out loud.

”These hands have the power to get wealth.”

“These hands have the power to heal the sick.”

“These hands have the power to set the captives free.”

Don’t ever doubt it.

God’s desire is to send salvation, healing, deliverance and the power to get wealth through our
hands.  But we must be willing and obedient.

God wants to use your hands.  When you move in obedience to His perfect plan, then you are
positioning yourself for a breakthrough miracle in your life.

Once again, Deuteronomy 16:15 says:

“The Lord. . .shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands.”

Have you noticed that “works of thine hands” appears in most of these scriptures?  It’s the works of
the hand . . .the power. . .that God releases into your hands.

Look at your hands. . .and speak the Word over them. . .manifesting what the Word of God says you
can do.

Step # 6—Don’t talk about the laying on of hands. . .DO IT!!

Exodus 14:15 in the King James Version says:

“Then the LORD said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise
your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go
through the sea on dry ground.”

As Israel was standing at the foot of the Red Sea with the enemy closing in fast, Moses cried out to
God.

God then says to Moses “Why are you standing there looking to me? I have told you, everything you
need is in your hand.

Go forward; stop standing around – get busy. God told Moses, raise your arm, take what is in your
hand and stretch it out in front of you.
I personally like The Living Bible version of Exodus 14:15 which says:

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Quit praying and get the people moving! Forward, march!”

Too many times. . .we talk about what we’re going to do. . .complain about what we have to do. .
.yet. . .never do anything at all.

We have in our hands God’s mighty Word with every promise, every instruction, every
commandment, and stories of redemption that we can believe in and stand on.

God wants each of us moving forth through and with the power of the Holy Spirit.

So take what you have in your hand, His Word, God’s promise, the power of the Blood infused with
the Holy Spirit and stretch it out in the direction you need to move in your life. Let God be God, and
He will part the Red Sea in your life.

Sometimes stretching out and believing in what God has placed in your hand will lead you where
you have never been before. You will not be walking in someone else’s footprints; you will be
making your own.

You may be leaving footprints where they may have never been seen before in new path blazing
through the obstacle that is in front of you, as God destroys the enemy that is behind you. So go
ahead and move forward.

Everything you need is in your own hand; God has supplied you with all you need. So stretch out,
your destiny is in your hand!

One last scripture. . .

1 Chronicles 29:12 in the New Living Translation says:

“Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your
hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.”

Step # 7—Never doubt the resurrection power of God flowing through your hands.

I was ready to write this seventh point. . .when the Lord directed me to stop.

He said “if my children do what the word tells them to do. . .they will never doubt the resurrection
power of God flowing through their hands.”

Once again, Deuteronomy 16:15 in the King James Bible says:

“The Lord. . .shall bless thee in all thine increase, and in all the works of thine hands.”

Personalize this verse and make it real in your life:

“The Lord. . .shall bless <<Your Name>> in all <<his/her>> increase, and in all the works of
<<his/her>> hands.”

31 Day Scriptural Guide To Becoming Debt Free

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share1.6K
I read years ago that what you focus on ... expands in your life.  If you want to be debt free ... then
you need to focus your mind and mouth on things that will enable and empower your journey to
financial success.

To assist you in your financial freedom journey I've put together 31 powerful scriptures to enrich and
engraft within you God's desire for you to be debt free.

I encourage you to memorize one scripture every day.  For instance, on Day 1 memorize the Day 1
scripture and confess it throughout the day.  On Day 2, continue confessing the scripture from Day 1
as you commit the scripture for Day 2 to your memory.  Meditate on these scriptures and ask the
Holy Spirit to enlighten your spirit with each word.

This exercise is important...it's not enough to just read the Word...you must memorize it and confess
the scriptures on a daily basis.  Remember out of the abundance of the heart...the mouth speaks.

Every day you need to be thinking and speaking about being debt free.

Here’s the 31 Day Scriptural Guide To Becoming Debt Free.

Day 1--Proverbs 23:7 (NLT)

“As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. . .”

Day 2--Proverbs 22:6,7

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  The rich
ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.”

“The poor are ruled by the rich, and those who borrow are slaves of moneylenders.”   CEV

Day 3--Galatians 5:1

“Christ has set us free to live a free life. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of
slavery on you.”

Day 4--Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Day 5--2 Timothy 2:4 (NLT)

“Soldiers don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then they  cannot please the officer who
enlisted them.”

Day 6--Malachi 3:10-12 NIV

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says
the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much
blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops,
and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty. “Then all the nations
will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.”

Day 7--Proverbs 11:28-29

“Trust in your money and down you go!  But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.    Those who
bring trouble on their families inherit the wind.  The fool will be a servant to the wise.”
Day 8--Proverbs 21:20 (TLB)

“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends what he gets.”

Day 9--Psalm 37:21

“The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and
giveth.”

Day 10--Proverbs 4:25 AMP

“Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.”

Day 11--Matthew 26:41 NLT

“Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body
is weak!”

Day 12--Proverbs 17:18

“A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.”

The Message Bible is a little more direct. . . “It's stupid to try to get something for nothing, or run up
huge bills you can never pay.”

Day 13--Deuteronomy 28:13 MSG

“You will lend to many nations but you yourself won't have to take out a loan. God will make you the
head, not the tail; you'll always be the top dog, never the bottom dog, as you obediently listen to and
diligently keep the commands of God, your God, that I am commanding you today. Don't swerve an
inch to the right or left from the words that I command you today by going off following and
worshiping other gods.”

Day 14--Proverbs 23:5

“Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly
away as an eagle toward heaven.”

Day 15--Habakkuk 2:7 AMP

“Shall [your debtors] not rise up suddenly who shall bite you, exacting usury of you, and those awake
who will vex you [toss you to and fro and make you tremble violently]?  Then you will be booty for
them.”

“Suddenly,  your debtors will take action.  They will turn on you and take all you have, while you
stand trembling and helpless.”   NLT

Day 16—Proverbs 14:22NIV

“Do not those who plot evil go astray?  But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.”

Day 17--2 Kings 4:1 MSG

“One day the wife of a man from the guild of prophets called out to Elisha, “Your servant my
husband is dead. You well know what a good man he was, devoted to God. And now  the man to
whom he was in debt is on his way to collect by taking my two children as slaves.”

Day 18--Romans 13:8 AMP

“Keep out of debt and owe no man anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his
neighbor [who practices loving others] has fulfilled the Law [relating to one's fellowmen, meeting all
its requirements].”

The Message Bible is very clear:

“Don't run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other.”

Day 19--Ezekiel 18:5 MSG

“Imagine a person who lives well, treating others fairly, keeping good relationships— doesn't eat at
the pagan shrines, doesn't worship the idols so popular in Israel, doesn't seduce a neighbor's spouse,
doesn't indulge in casual sex, doesn't bully anyone,  doesn't pile up bad debts, doesn't steal, doesn't
refuse food to the hungry, doesn't refuse clothing to the ill-clad, doesn't exploit the poor,  doesn't live
by impulse and greed, doesn't treat one person better than another, But lives by my statutes and
faithfully honors and obeys my laws. This person who lives upright and well shall live a full and true
life. Decree of God, the Master.”

Day 20--Deuteronomy 15:6 AMP

“When the Lord your God blesses you as He promised you, then you shall lend to many nations, but
you shall not borrow; and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.”

Day 21--Romans 13:7 MSG

“Fulfill your obligations as a citizen. Pay your taxes, pay your bills, respect your leaders.”

Day 22--Luke 14:28 NLT

“But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without
first getting estimates and then checking to see if there is enough money to pay the bills?”

Day 23--Joshua 1:8

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt
make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

Day 24--Jeremiah 32:17

“Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched
out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:”

Day 25--Philippians 4:19:

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

Day 26--Matthew 17:20

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a
grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall
remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

Day 27--2 Kings 4:7

“Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live
thou and thy children of the rest.”
Day 28--Nehemiah 5:10-13 MSG

“I and my brothers and the people working for me have also loaned them money. But this gouging
them with interest has to stop. Give them back their foreclosed fields, vineyards, olive groves, and
homes right now. And forgive your claims on their money, grain, new wine, and olive oil.

“They said, “We'll give it all back. We won't make any more demands on them. We'll do everything
you say.”

Day 29--Exodus 14:13

“Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the
LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.”

Day 30--John 8:36

“If the Son therefore, shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”

Day 31--Job 41:11 CEV

“I am in command of the world and in debt to no one.”

7 Keys To Supernatural Favor

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share487

Just over a week ago, I started writing “7 Keys To Supernatural Favor.”

Almost immediately, I wrote down seven key points I felt the teaching would be built around.  Here
are the seven keys.

# 1  By believing in and expecting continual supernatural moves of God in your daily life.

# 2  By doing what you say you're going to do. . .when you say you’re going to do it.

# 3  Being a person of integrity even when no one else is around.

# 4  Being a person of character instead of being a character.

# 5  Live an Ephesians 6:8 lifestyle.

# 6  Treat people the way you want to be treated.

# 7  Position yourself for His favor to flow through you to others.

I was led to write and . .excited about the seven keys. . .but nothing was flowing out of my spirit.  So
I sat the teaching aside for over a week.

When I looked at it again. . .I knew God had seven different keys He wanted me to share.  Here they
are.

1.         Praising God will give you favor.

If you want to know how to move in God’s supernatural favor. . .you’ll find an amazing answer in
Acts 2:47 which says:

“Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as
should be saved.”

According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word for praising is aineō (G134) and it means:

“to praise, extol, to sing praises in honour to God;  to allow, recommend;  to promise or vow”

Praising comes from the Greek root word ainos  (G136) which means:

“a saying, proverb; praise, laudatory discourse.”

When you begin to praise God. . .you change the spiritual atmosphere. . .wherever you are and
whatever you’re going through.

If you feel like the hordes of hell have carpooled and headed to your house. . .then just start praising
God for what He’s done and is doing in your life.

Start with the basics. . .thank God for being able to breathe on your own. . .to hear others speak and
being able to speak so others hear you.

When words of praise start flowing from your lips. . .circumstances change. . .adversaries flee. .
.thoughts are purified and energized by the Holy Spirit. . .which leaves  a spiritual confidence. . .with
every person you meet.

2.         When you accept a difficult assignment you move in His favor.

If God knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb and He does... don’t you think He
knows every situation and circumstance you will face on your journey through this earth?

Luke 1:29-31 in the Amplified Bible says:

“But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled and disturbed and confused at what he said and
kept revolving in her mind what such a greeting might mean.

“And the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found grace (free,
spontaneous,  absolute favor  and loving-kindness) with God.

“And listen! You will become pregnant and will give birth to a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus.”

Why do you think Mary found “absolute favor” with God. . .could it be because He knew her
character well enough to know how she'd respond?

Luke 1:34-35, 37-38 says:

“Then said Mary unto the angel,  How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

And the angel answered and said unto her,  The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and  the power of
the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall
be called the Son of God. . .For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the
handmaid of the Lord;  be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”

Mary knew she had never been with a man. . .so asking “how shall this be”was a logical question.
But . . . she didn’t say, “This can’t happen. . .it’s never been done before.”  Her question was not one
of doubt but of inquiry.  She knew there was something about to happen. . .that she’d never
experienced before.  Something beyond the natural realm . . . something born of the spirit.

God counted on Mary being obedient. . .when it wasn’t convenient.

God knew within Mary's heart she could agree to do something. . . where her actions would be
misunderstood and slandered. . .even at the risk of her own death.

Why do you think. . .the people didn’t stone Mary to death as the law directed. . .it’s because she
was moving in the favor of God.

Five verses before the angel reveals Mary’s future to her. . .she is referred to as “highly favoured.”

Luke 1:28 says:

“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee:
blessed art thou among women.”

Like Mary. . .you may be facing seemingly impossible circumstances or problems. . .but if you
respond. . .despite the severity of the adversity. . .as simply as. . . “be it according to you Word”. .
.then you too. . .will be moving in supernatural favor.

3.         When you increase in wisdom. . .you increase in favor with God.

Luke 2:52 says:

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

According to Strong’s Concordance wisdom is the Greek word sophia (G4678) and it means:

“wisdom, broad and full of intelligence; the wisdom which belongs to men

1) the varied knowledge of things human and divine, acquired by acuteness and experience, and
summed up in maxims and proverbs

2) the science and learning

3) the act of interpreting dreams and always giving the sagest advice

4) the intelligence evidenced in discovering the meaning of some mysterious number or vision

5) skill in the management of affairs

6) devout and proper prudence in intercourse with men not disciples of Christ, skill and discretion in
imparting Christian truth

7) the knowledge and practice of the requisites for godly and upright living”

It’s the same Greek word found in Luke 21:15 in the Amplified Bible which says:

“For I [Myself] will give you a mouth and such utterance and wisdom that all of your foes combined
will be unable to stand against or refute.”

It’s also used in 1 Corinthians 1:24 in the Amplified Bible which says:

“But to those who are called, whether Jew or Greek (Gentile), Christ [is] the Power of God and the
Wisdom of God.”

How do you and I get this wisdom?  James 1:5 says:

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him.”

Luke 2:52 makes it clear to me. . .there is an proportionate increase in favour as you increase in
wisdom.  Once again the verse says:

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”

If you want to walk in supernatural favor. . .get wisdom.

4.         His irresistible charm will flow through you to other people.

Even in the midst of difficult circumstances. . .the supernatural favor of God will flow through you.

Genesis 39:21 says:

“But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the
keeper of the prison.”

While most believers will never find themselves confined in a prison with guards and tungsten steel
wire fences. . .they may feel incarcerated by their surroundings. . .feeling that freedom. . .financial
and otherwise. . .is just an elusive dream.

No matter what circumstances you’re facing. . .God can move you from the prison to the palace. . .as
His irresistible charm flows through you to change hearts and attitudes toward you.

Acts 7:10 in the Amplified Bible says:

“And delivered him from all his distressing afflictions and won him goodwill and favor and wisdom
and understanding in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who made him governor over Egypt and all
his house.”

God will even give you favor with people who have tortured you. . .laughed at you. . .perhaps even
enslaved you.

Exodus 12:36 in the Amplified Bible says:

“The Lord gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they gave them what they
asked. And they stripped the Egyptians [of those things].”

God’s WORD Translation of Exodus 12:36 says: “. . .So the Israelites stripped Egypt of its wealth.”

So my prayer is for the irresistible charm of Jesus to flow through you. . .giving you favor with every
person you meet.  Many of these people may not even know why they’re giving you such favor. .
.but we will know.

We will know.

5.         Never leave home without it.

Years ago, American Express had an ad campaign which suggested we “Never leave home without
their credit card."

a long time ago, I used to say . .we were so broke. . .American Express wrote me a letter and said
“Please leave home without it.”  Not really, just a little humor.

1 Corinthians 16:23 in the Amplified Bible says:

“The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.”

From the time we awakened in the morning till we pillow our heads at night. . .our Heavenly Father
wants us talking, walking, living and acting in His favor. . .wherever we go and in whatever we’re
doing. . .as long as. . .we bring glory and honor to Him.

Oftentimes we don’t walk in favour because we don’t ask for it or expect it.

Do you expect to find a parking space close to the entrance of the mall?  When you do. . .that’s the
favour of God.

For a number of years, my fine wife Bev taught a wonderful group of high school and college girls.
She taught them to always pray for favor in everything even including parking spots wherever they
went.

One of the students returned to the campus one Sunday praying as usual for favor in finding a
parking spot close to her dorm at East Carolina University but there was not one to me found.

The student was disappointed at having to park on the other side of the campus until the next
morning when the light of day revealed that the severe thunderstorm that came through during the
night have blown rocks off the top of her dorm damaging all the cars that had parked close.

There will be moments where we pray for favor in specific situations thinking that things should go
one way. . .when, in fact, something else is better.  But whatever the scenario we’ve got must realize
that “Father Knows Best” and I’m not talking about the old TV show.

Psalm 139:5 in the Message Bible says:

“You know when I leave and when I get back; I'm never out of your sight. You know everything I'm
going to say before I start the first sentence.

“I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too—your reassuring presence,
coming and going.  This is too much, too wonderful—I can't take it all in!”

6.         Even sinners recognize the favor of God on you.

“I don’t know what it is but things always seem to go your way.”

It’s important for each of to realize that even when the enemy tries to trip us up. . .or  traps for
us. . .he loses and we ALWAYS win.

Take comfort in Proverbs 12:13 in the Amplified Bible which says:

“The wicked is [dangerously] snared by the transgression of his lips, but the [uncompromisingly]
righteous shall come out of trouble.”

Not only come out of trouble. . .but many times. . .the favour of God will keep us from ever falling
into traps of the enemy.

Psalm 91:3 in the Contemporary English Version says:

“The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps and deadly diseases.”

Jacob had his wages changed ten times by his conniving and greedy father-in-law Laban.  Despite the
best efforts of a sinful man. . .Jacob continued to prosper because Jacob kept his trust in God.

The favor of God on Jacob. . .became clearly evident to Laban.

Genesis 30:27 says:

“And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by
experience that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake.”

Even sinners can’t overlook, deny or rationalize away the supernatural favor on God on someone’s
life.

Genesis 21:22 in the New Living Translation says:

“About this time, Abimelech came with Phicol, his army commander, to visit Abraham. “God is
obviously with you, helping you in everything you do,” Abimelech said.”

What a witness. . .for God’s favor on your life to be clearly evident to everyone around you.

7.         Double favor can be yours.

2 Corinthians 1:15 in the Amplified Bible says:

“It was with assurance of this that I wanted and planned to visit you first [of all], so that you might
have a double favor and token of grace (goodwill).”

The New Living Translation of 2 Corinthians 1:15 says:

“Since I was so sure of your understanding and trust, I wanted to give you a double blessing by
visiting you twice.”

Talk about favor. . .two visits by Paul would be an incredible experience.  The opportunity of being in
his presence. . .experiencing the power flowing through him and the revelation pouring out of him.

What would put a person in such a unique position?  Simply put, obeying what the word says
whether it’s convenient or not.  Doing what God says we should be doing and how we should be
doing it.

Which now leads me back full circle to the original seven keys. . .which I now know underscore the
importance of this teaching and how God wants us to operate in the earthly realm.

# 1  By believing in and expecting continual supernatural moves of God in your daily life.

# 2  By doing what you say you're going to do. . .when you say you’re going to do it.

# 3  Being a person of integrity even when no one else is around.

# 4  Being a person of character instead of being a character

# 5  Live an Ephesians 6:8 lifestyle.

# 6  Treat people the way you want to be treated.

# 7  Position yourself for His favor to flow through you to others.

One final thought. . .I'd rather walk in His favor than have you do one for me.

7 Things To Make Your Faith Grow

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share1.3K

Thousands of books have been written on faith. . .hundreds of thousands of sermons and millions of
words discuss faith. . . yet God stirred me to write seven things to make your faith grow. So,
growing our faith is an ongoing project . . .  one that never ends.

Faith is like a seed. . .plant it in your heart and your mind.  At the appointed time. . .God will give
you a mega harvest of what you need just when you need it.

Colossians 2:7 in the New Living Translation says:

“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow
strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

How do you grow strong in faith. . .so you can overflow with revelation, blessings and thankfulness?

It’s a process.

Smith Wigglesworth, the anointed English Bible teacher and healer once said:

“How can one come to possess great faith? Now listen, here is the answer to that: First, the blade,
then the ear, then the full corn in the ear. Faith must grow by soil, moisture, and exercise.”

Here are the seven things to make your faith grow.

1.         Feed your faith. . .through the Word

Brother Kenneth Hagin said:

“Faith begins where the will of God is known.”

How do you know the will of God?

READ YOUR BIBLE. . .BEGIN DOING WHAT IT SAYS AND YOU WILL HAVE A GROWTH SPURT IN FAITH.

Psalm 34:8 says:

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

The Message Bible translation of Psalm 34:8 says:

“Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see—how good God is.  Blessed are you who run to
him.”

Psalm 119:103 in the Message Bible says:

“Your words are so choice, so tasty; I prefer them to the best home cooking.  With your instruction, I
understand life.”

By feeding on the Word. . .you never have to wonder or worry about what to do next. The Word of
God is alive.  It is like food that nourishes our souls. Our faith activates the Word.

John 14:26 says:

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things,
and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
Reading the Word allows the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance exactly what we need to apply
to our daily situations.

2.         Exercise your faith. . .by your actions

Here are seven keys to exercising your faith.

First, what you do in life. . .will be a reflection of what you’ve learned.

John 8:38 in the Amplified Bible says:

“I tell the things which I have seen and learned at My Father’s side, and your actions also reflect
what you have heard and learned from your father.”

Second, our greatest desire should be for our deeds to reflect His instructions.

Psalm 119:5 in the New Living Translation says:

“Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!”

Third, faith must be an action or it will always be inactive.

James 2:17 in the Amplified Bible says:

“So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is
destitute of power (inoperative, dead).”

Fourth, it’s a team effort. . .faith. . .knowing that God’s Word is true. . .and actions which unleash
faith into the natural realm.

James 2:22 in the New Living Translation says:

“You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete.”

Fifth, you will be rewarded for the actions you take. . .and consequences when you don’t.

Proverbs 24:12 in the New Living Translation says:

“Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he
sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions
deserve.”

Sixth, our commitment to bring glory and honor to His name. . .will automatically bring success to
ours.

Proverbs 16:3 in the New Living Translation says:

“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.”

Seventh, you’ll be paid for your faithful actions.

Revelation 22:12 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to
each one just what his own actions and his own work merit.”

3.         Speak to your faith. . .to make it grow.

I love preaching in churches where the people speak back to me.

I’m reminded of a story I heard once about a preacher who had a congregation that would talk back
to him during his sermon as they got excited about their future.

One Sunday morning, the preacher said, “this church is like a crippled man who needs to get up and
walk under the power of Jesus.”

The congregation replied with enthusiasm, “let it walk preacher, let it walk.”

Then the preacher said, “This church like Elijah on Mount Carmel has got to run.”

The congregation replied with enthusiasm, “let it run preacher, let it run.”

Then the preacher said, “This church has got to mount up on wings like eagles and fly.”

The congregation replied with enthusiasm, “let it fly preacher, let it fly.”

Then the preacher added, “Now if this church is going to fly it’s going to take MONEY.”

The congregation replied with lack of enthusiasm, “let it walk preacher, let it walk.”

That’s not exactly what I would call speaking your faith.

2 Corinthians 4:13 in the Good News Translation says:

“The scripture says, “I spoke because I believed.” In the same spirit of faith we also speak because we
believe.”

There are also times. . .when you will speak about things of faith before they ever manifest in the
natural realm.

Romans 4:17 in the Amplified Bible says:

“(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even
God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

Your boldness in your faith will open doors of opportunity for you.

1Timothy 3:13 in the Good News Translation says:

“Those helpers who do their work well win for themselves a good standing and are able to speak
boldly about their faith in Christ Jesus.”

4.         Free your faith. . .from negativity

Brother Kenneth Hagin often said:

“Feed your faith and starve your doubts.”

The word negative isn’t really in the King James Version of the Bible.  However, when I think about
the word negative I’m reminded of the word doubt.

F.F. Bosworth, the author of Christ the Healer, said “faith and doubt cannot live in the same house.”

James 1:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who
wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and
tossed by the wind.”
When doubt leaves your life . . .you are presented with unlimited opportunities.

Matthew 21:21 in the New Living Translation says:

“Then Jesus told them, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you can do things like
this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the
sea,’ and it will happen.”

How do you get rid of doubt. . .or negativity?

James 4:7 says:

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”

Someone once said:

“You get faith by studying the Word. Study that Word until something in you “knows that you
know” and that you do not just hope that you know.”

John 10:17 in the New King James Version says:

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

READ YOUR BIBLE. . .BELIEVE WHAT IT SAYS.

5.         Believing the impossible as possible

The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir has a great song entitled “Nothing Is Impossible.”  Here are some of
the lyrics:

“Nothing, nothing at all

Nothing, nothing at all is impossible, impossible, with God

 Nothing, nothing at all

Nothing, nothing at all is impossible, impossible, with God

It is no secret what my God can do

What my God has done for others he can still do for you

There's nothing impossible, impossible, with God”

I recently posted the following statement on Facebook and Twitter.

Never let fear of the unknown or untried prevent you from doing what appears at first to be
impossible...when in reality...it's possible.

Luke 1:37 in the Amplified Bible says:

“For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible
of fulfillment.”

With God. . .nothing is impossible.  Well, there is one thing. . .it’s impossible to please God without
faith.

Hebrews 11:6 says:

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

The Amplified Bible translation of Hebrews 11:6 says:

“But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come
near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who
earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].”

According to Strong’s Concordance the Greek word for rewarder is misthapodotēs  (G3406) and it

means:

“one who pays wages, a rewarder”

He is one who pays wages to those who diligently seek him.

Are you getting this?

Jeremiah 17:10 in the New Living Translation says:

“But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards,
according to what their actions deserve.”

What are your due rewards for diligently faithfully seeking him?  You’re going to get paid for it.

Hallelujah!!

6.         Share it with others

Do you want to know how you can understand and receive every blessing God has for you?

The answer is found in Philemon 1:6 in God’s WORD Translation which says:

“As you share the faith you have in common with others, I pray that you may come to have a
complete knowledge of every blessing we have in Christ.”

Every blessing we have in Christ.

Can somebody shout HALLELUJAH?

1 Chronicles 16:8 says:

Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.”

The Message Bible translation of 1 Chronicles 16:8-9 says:

“Thank God! Call out his Name! Tell the whole world who he is and what he's done!  Sing to him!
Play songs for him!  Broadcast all his wonders!”

When our favorite athlete does something remarkable. . .we want to talk with all our friends about
his/her accomplishments.

When our favorite team wins the big game. . .we want to brag on them.

When we see our favorite actor/actress give an Oscar worthy performance. . .we want to talk about
it.

When we’re recognized on our jobs. . .we want to tell all our friends about it.
When we’re selected for special recognition at church or in any sort of activity . . . we want to let
people know about it.

When our children excel in a sporting event, academic or extra-curricular pursuit, we like bragging
on them.

Why, we even brag on our pets for doing a particularly good trick, our cars for their gas mileage or
how they look. . .our big screen TV. . .the list could go on.

There is nothing wrong about the various scenarios I’ve just listed . . . unless, we testify about
everybody or everything else except our great God Jehovah.

The question each of us need to answer is. . .how much time do we spend bragging on our God. .
.the one who woke us up this morning. . .clothed us in our right mind. . .gave us air to breathe and
food to eat?

The scripture is very clear. . .we’re to tell the world “who He is and what He’s done.”

In fact, the Message Bible translation of 1 Chronicles 16:9 says that we’re to “broadcast all His
wonders.”

Psalm 34:3 says:

“O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.”

One more scripture.  Colossians 3:15 in the Message Bible says:

“Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going
off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—
have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using
good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God!  Let every detail in your lives—words,
actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step
of the way.”

The way you thank Him. . .is by doing what He says in His word. . .share your faith.

7.         Discuss your faith. . .frequently with your Manufacturer

Our manufacturer created an instruction manual for each of us to survive and thrive in any and every
situation, circumstance and problem we face in life.

Here’s a revelation. . .if we don’t read and study it, then we’ll continually have problems all the days
of our natural born life.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says:

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all
good works.”

If something is profitable . . .it’s going to be beneficial.  The word profitable in the Strong’s

Concordance is from a Greek word that means “profitable, advantage.”

If we want to have advantages in life then we need to understand our instruction manual. . .God’s
Holy Word.  Every answer to every problem we face is in the book.

Smith Wigglesworth said:

“I am not moved by what I see. I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe.”

Matthew Barnett said:

“Faith is believing that God is going to take you places before you even get there.”

Mark Victor Hansen, the author of the Chicken Soup books said:

“Your belief determines your action and your action determines your results, but first you have to
believe.”

One final quote by Smith Wigglesworth:

“Fear looks; faith jumps. Faith never fails to obtain its object. If I leave you as I found you, I am not
God’s channel. I am not here to entertain you, but to get you to the place where you can laugh at
the impossible.”

Now it’s time for you to take what you’ve heard and read. . .and begin to make your faith grow even
stronger than it’s ever been.

7 Keys To Defeating Giants In Your Life

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share689

Are you facing any giants today?

How do your giant(s) compare with Goliath?

1 Samuel 17:4 says:

“And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose
height was six cubits and a span.”

Based on the King James Version of the Bible six cubits and a span would make Goliath over nine
feet tall.

When you consider the average height of a man in Biblical times was five feet three inches. . Goliath
was truly a giant.

1 Samuel 17:5 says:

“And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the
weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.”

According to my historical research Goliath’s helmet weighed roughly 66 pounds and his brass coat
weighed roughly 175 pounds.

Can you imagine your 9’ neighbor carrying a 175 pound backpack and a 66 pound Yankees hat?

1 Samuel 17:7 says:

“And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred
shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.”
The tip of Goliath’s spear. . .not the entire spear. . .but just the tip weighed approximately 20
pounds.  Pick up a 20 pound bag of potatoes and imagine that weight on the end of a spear!

Without question, Goliath was a fierce-looking, trash-talking, massive killing machine who struck
terror in the hearts of his opponents.

Have you faced any Goliaths today?

I’m not talking about a natural Goliath.

Is living from paycheck to paycheck . . . barely making ends meet. . .a giant in your life?

Is being unemployed or under-employed . . . a giant in your life?

Is having someone you love addicted to drugs or booze . . .a giant in your life?

Is having your spouse unfaithful. . .either in word or deed. . .a giant in your life?

How are you dealing with your giants?  Are you making the typical response?

What was David’s first response when he saw and heard Goliath insult Israel and their great God,
Jehovah.

Believe it or not. . .he ran out of fear. . .along with the rest of the soldiers of Israel.

1 Samuel 17:24 says:

“And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.”

Notice the verse says. . . “all” the men of Israel fled and that included David. . .ran and were
afraid. . .fearful for their lives.

But then something happened to change David’s mind. . .he had a defining moment based on new
information and motivation.

1 Samuel 17:25 says:

“And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come
up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will
give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.”

David discovered that the person who killed Goliath would be given three things:

First, not just riches but “great riches.”

Second, he would be given the hand of the King’s beautiful daughter in marriage thus making him
a member of the King’s family and giving him entrance into the King’s court.

Third, his father and family would have their homes free from payments and taxes.

Upon learning of the reward. . .David made a profound statement in 1 Samuel 17:26 when he said:
“for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

David, finally received the right motivation. . .what is your motivation?

Here are seven keys to defeating the giants in your life.

1.         Show up for the battle ready to fight.

Sometimes you don’t get to pick the place or the time. . .but you must always be ready for the fight.

First, sometimes you must take the fight to the enemy.

1 Samuel 17:34-35 says:

“And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear,
and took a lamb out of the flock:  And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his
mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.”

David didn’t just defeat the lion and the bear.  The scripture says that David went after them when
they stole what belonged to him.

Second, you have to expect the return of what belongs to you plus restitution.

There will be times in life when the enemy takes what belongs to you.  He will steal your income,
your home, a family member, your time and/or health.

You must be aggressive in going after what the enemy has taken.

Proverbs 6:31 says:

“But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.”

Third, you must be ready for battle in season and out of season.

2 Timothy 4:2 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether
the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient,
whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way
their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and
encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.”

Finally, remember you will never win a battle you don’t show up for.

2.         Don’t run from the battle.

Did it surprise you earlier in this teaching when I showed you in scripture that David like all the
soldiers in the Army of Israel ran from Goliath and a possible battle to the death?

1 Samuel 17:24 says:

“And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.”

Before criticizing David. . .let me ask you a question. . .when you’re facing an enemy do you run from
the battle?

Ignoring a problem will never make it go away or lessen the intensity of the battle your facing.

Running in the midst of a fire fight with the devil with either make you a prisoner or a casualty but
never a victor.

If someone or something is causing you a problem. . .it’s better to face the consequences.

Someone once said, if you want to be the leader of the band. . .you must be willing to face the
music.
When you’re in the midst of a battle and someone yells “incoming” it’s important to know who’s in
the foxhole with you.

You don’t have to run from any battle. . .because you always know who’s with you in your foxhole
and in every adversity you’ll ever face.

Psalm 118:6 the Message Bible says:

“God's now at my side and I'm not afraid; who would dare lay a hand on me?”

3.         Don’t be afraid.

If you’re facing. . .difficult, if not, seemingly impossible financial or other attacks of the enemy. . .you
can take comfort in know that God is in your foxhole. . .He’s with you no matter where or what kind
of battle you’re facing.

With God by your side. . .there is no reason to fear or ever doubt the outcome of the battle.

Zephaniah 3:15 in the Amplified Bible says:

“[For then it will be that] the Lord has taken away the judgments against you; He has cast out your
enemy. The King of Israel, even the Lord [Himself], is in the midst of you; [and after He has come to
you] you shall not experience or fear evil any more.”

There are forty-four times in the King James Version of the Bible where we’re told to “be not
afraid” and there are sixty-six times in the New Living Translation where the scripture says “don’t be
afraid.”

Let’s look at four key verses of the forty-four in the King James Bible.

“. . . be not afraid of him. . .”  2 Kings 1:15

“. . . be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee. . .” Deuteronomy 20:1

“. . . Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for
the battle is not yours, but God's.”  2 Chronicles 20:15

“. . . Be not afraid, only believe.”  Mark 5:36

These four verses tell us to not be afraid of “him” or “them” but to “only believe.”

With God on our side. . .we have no reason to be afraid.

Hebrews 13:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will
not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?”

Even though God should only have to tell us something once. . .sometimes we have to be reminded
when we’re facing the Goliath of doubt and fear.

4.         Don’t worry about what other people may think.

In the final analysis. . .no one else can fight your battles. . .no one else take your place on Judgment
Day. . .you and you alone are accountable for what you do or don’t do.
Other people may face a shortage of money, opportunities, courage and/or wisdom but there’s one
area where they never experience a shortage. . .that’s in opinions of what you should and/or
shouldn’t do.

1 Samuel 17:28-30 in the New Living Translation says:

“But when David’s oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are
you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be
taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!”  “What have I
done now?” David replied. “I was only asking a question!”

Why do some of your co-workers talk about you behind your back?

Why do some of your friends and even family members get angry on your initiative and desire for a
better quality of life?

Your success becomes a reflection of their lack of success.

Eliab was upset because neither he, his brothers nor any of the solders in the army of Israel were
willing to stand up to Goliath

Sadly, some people instead of fessing up to their lack of success seek to minimize who you are, what
you do or are capable of doing. . .so it will not reflect poorly on them.

It’s important that you understand other people’s motivation. . .for the hurtful things they may say. .
.but it’s critically important that you never allow their opinion of you to determine what you do or
don’t do.

In life, there may be times when you like David will ask “what have I done now.”

The attitude and actions of others may not be so much as to what you’re doing as to what they are
not doing.

Consider the words of Colossians 3:23 in the Amplified Bible which says:

“Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and
not for men.”

Remember, it’s not important others think. . .but what God thinks about what you’re doing.

5.         You choose the weapons.

There are three things you should know when it comes to choosing your weapons.

First, get rid of anything that doesn’t work for you.

Eliminate anything that can be weaknesses or that will restrict you movement and possibilities of
success.

1 Samuel 17:38-40 in the Contemporary English Version says:

“Saul had his own military clothes and armor put on David, and he gave David a bronze helmet to
wear. David strapped on a sword and tried to walk around, but he was not used to wearing those
things.  "I can't move with all this stuff on," David said. "I'm just not used to it."
While King Saul’s armor didn’t weigh as much as Goliath’s it’s generally agreed by historians that his
armor weigh between one and two hundred pounds.  If you’ve never been used to wearing that
much gear. . .it would be a heavy unmanageable load.

In the marketplace. . .remember that just because somebody else does something that it may not
work the same way for you.

Second, find something that will work for you.  Play to your strengths.

1 Samuel 17:40 in the Contemporary English Version says:

“David took off the armor and picked up his shepherd's stick. He went out to a stream and picked up
five smooth rocks and put them in his leather bag. Then with his sling in his hand, he went straight
toward Goliath.”

David’s weapons of choice wouldn’t work for anybody else but him. . .but that’s okay because he
was the only one headed to the field of battle.

Third, you have weapons that can defeat every foe.

2 Corinthians 10:4 in the Amplified Bible says:

“For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty
before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds.”

You have weapons at your disposal which are undefeatable in every battle you will ever face.

The Message Bible translation of 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 gives an even clearer picture of your arsenal
and the purpose of your warfare.

“The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair. But we don't live
or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren't for marketing
or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our
powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the
truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by
Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of
obedience into maturity.”

I strongly suggest that you listen to or read that verse one more time.

6.         Understand the rewards of winning.

Never make any mistake about it. . .the battles that you’re facing is for territory. . .for the rewards
that God has promised you.

First, the warrior who defeats Goliath will receive “great riches.”
God has a benefit delivery system designed for every person who ever drew a breath on planet
earth.  He desires for you to be rich that’s why He gave you the power to get wealth (Deuteronomy
8:18.)

Make no mistake, your enemy wants you broke, busted and disgusted.

Once you realize who’s fighting against you. . .and the weapons available to you. . .you can begin
your active pursuit of the prosperity God has for you.  And that would give Him more pleasure than
you realizing and manifesting what He intended for you to have (Psalm 35:27.)

Second, the warrior now victorious and wealthy will receive the hand of the King’s beautiful
daughter in marriage.

If you want to properly court the woman of your dreams. . .that takes money.  Some would say, I’m
not marrying for money, I’m marrying for love. . .that sounds good and to some extent it’s true.

However, if you’re having to work two jobs just to make ends meet. . .then you’re never going to
have the time to spend with your dream lover for them to know who you are and the depth of your
character.

If you’re successful in the adversities of life. . .then it will be much easier for you to meet, greet, treat
and wed the person of your dreams.

Third, the victorious warrior will also have all their bills paid in full.

The enemy wants to keep you up to your eyeballs in debt. . .strung out by payments and with little, if
any hope of ever becoming debt free.  The enemy wants you to believe that where you are in life
right now. . .is where you’re going to stay.  That’s simply, not true.

The world says “to the victor go the spoils.”  When you let Him help you, when you are obedient to
His word. . .then your financial dreams will become a reality.

Isaiah 1:19 in The Living Bible says:

“If you will only let me help you, if you will only obey my instructions, then I will make you rich.”

7.         Do something with what’s in your hand.

President Theodore Roosevelt said:

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”

You should always start where you are. . .with what you’ve got. . .at the moment.

David choose five smooth stones. . .he didn’t choose someone else’s weapon he chose what he
knew would work for him.  David  activated what he knew would empower him.

2 Timothy 1:14 in The Living Bible says:

“Guard well the splendid, God-given ability you received as a gift from the Holy Spirit who lives within
you.”

In every battle you face. . .being empowered by the Holy Spirit will GUARANTEE your victory. . .and
your ability to defeat every giant of debt, lack, sickness, despair and doubt.

You’ll defeat every giant you face. . .because God is on your side.
7 Reasons You Can Take Back What The Enemy Has Stolen

WRITTEN BY HAROLD HERRING. .

Share266

"I went to the enemy's camp and I took back what he stole from me.

“Took back what he stole from me.

“Took back what he stole from me….

“He's under my feet."

The words of "Enemy's Camp" are much more than a snappy tune...they are scriptural fact.

Here are seven indisputable reasons why you can take back what the enemy has stolen from you.

First, you’re not alone.  Deuteronomy 20:1 in the New Living Translation says:

“When you go out to fight your enemies and you face horses and chariots and an army greater than
your own, do not be afraid. The Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, is with
you!”

Second, you’re not going to fight the battle because 2 Chronicles 20:15 says:

“. . . Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for
the battle is not yours, but God's.”

Third, there is only one thing you have to do.  Mark 5:36 says:

“. . . Be not afraid, only believe.”

Fourth, if you’re going to face your enemies . . . call in reinforcements.  Psalm 118:5-6 in The Living
Bible says:

“In my distress I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me and rescued me. He is for me! How can I be
afraid? What can mere man do to me?”

Fifth, anyone who opposes you opposes Him.  Exodus 23:22

“But if you will indeed listen to and obey His voice … I will be an enemy to your enemies and an
adversary to your adversaries.”

Sixth, you will come out of the battle unharmed.  Psalm 118:6 in the Message Bible says:

“…who would dare lay a hand on me?”

Seventh, you’ve got protection stronger than Superman’s cape or Spiderman’s web.  Hebrews
13:5-6 in the Amplified Bible says:

“So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will
not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?”
Never allow the enemy to know when he’s hit you in a weak or vulnerable spot…instead call on and
out the heavy artillery. . .the Word of God and you’ll win every victory.

Don’t let the enemy know what you’re thinking and feeling. . .but always talk things over with God.

When you know the truth. . .you need to act on it.

22 Keys To An Open Heaven

Your Perception Generally Becomes Your Reality

Did you know that the way you perceive God can keep you from knowing the truth about Him? It’s
true.

Your perception of a person, even if it is wrong, will keep you from seeing him or her as they really
are. That is the reason I make this statement:

You will have the God you perceive.

If you perceive Him as a poor god, you will always think He is trying to get money from you. But
when you understand He is a rich God, you will realize He is trying to get money to you  not from
you.

Your perception of God and His relationship to your financial status will cause you to see Him in one
of two ways: He will be either Jehovah Needy or Jehovah Jireh.

According to the Bible, God is Jehovah Jireh and is ready and able to prosper and abundantly bless
you beyond all you can imagine or think.

He is not  Jehovah Needy, standing with His hand out trying to get all you have for his own selfish
need.

Here is the bottom line. You are a living epistle (letter) that is being read by every unsaved person
who observes your life.

… you yourselves are our letter of recommendation (our credentials), written in your hearts, to be
known (perceived, recognized) and read by everybody. 2 Corinthians 3:2, Amplified

If the God you perceive from the teaching you have received is a needy god, all who observe you will
perceive your god to be needy or greedy, and they will have no desire to know him.

However, if the God you perceive from a correct understanding of His Word is a God who
abundantly blesses and prospers His children, those who observe His goodness to you will perceive
Him to be a good god who supplies and blesses, and they will come to your light.

…Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord
has risen upon you!

… His glory shall be seen on you.

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah 60:1-3,
Amplified

The primary purpose of this teaching is to provide you with 22 key requirements for keeping heaven
open over your life.

When the windows of heaven are open, the abundance of god can continually flow into your
stewardship, revealing to the world the rich and generous God you serve.

Key #1 You Must Tithe

There is no question that the first step to proper stewardship is tithing, for the tithe belongs to God.

And the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it
is holy unto the LORD. Leviticus 27:30

God promises that if you faithfully tithe, He will open heaven over your life and abundantly bless
you.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me
herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a
blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.Malachi 3:10

In light of this verse, it is clear that if you do not tithe, the windows of heaven will not be open in
your life.

Key #2 Keep Your Priorities Right

You will not receive increase from god if you ask for the wrong reasons.

Ye ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts. James
4:3

You can be assured of an ever-increasing flow of wealth if you will always put the Kingdom of god
first in your life.

But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added
unto you.Matthew 6:33

When your primary purpose for increase is for the benefit of the Kingdom, God promises He will
supply those things you personally desire as well as the things you need.

Key #3 Don’t Be Double Minded

A double-minded man does not have the ability to receive from God.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven
with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. James 1:6-8

You can overcome double-mindedness first by reading and studying the Word of God.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15
Second, you can overcome by listening to anointed ministers as they teach the Word of God.

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be
established.Romans 1:11

Key #4 Give Acceptable Offerings

God does not accept every offering, but you can give in such a way that all your offerings will be
acceptable to Him.

First, always give from a willing heart.

For if there be first a willing mind, if (your offering) is accepted … 2 Corinthians 8:12

Second, base the amount of your offering on the good things God has given you.

… it (your offering) is accepted according to that a man hath (according to what God has given
you), and not according to that he hath not.2 Corinthians 8:12

Third, always give your offerings with joy and thanksgiving.

2 Corinthians 9:7… let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for god loveth a cheerful giver.

Key #5 Have Proper Understanding

Understanding always governs every part of your ability to receive for God.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul
(understanding) prospereth.3 John 2

You can’t increase in an area if you have no understanding of it. However, when you begin to
understand the things God has promised, you will have the ability to receive their manifestation in
your life.

Key #6 Cast Out All Fear

The spirit of fear does not come from God.

For God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.2
Timothy 1:7

You overcome fear by believing and trusting God’s Word more than you trust the words of anyone
else, the devil included.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God,
and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5

Remember that Jesus is the Truth. You can trust everything He said in His Word.

Key #7 Operate in Faith

You can’t please God if you don’t have faith in Him.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is,
and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Strong faith is absolutely necessary for increase, for it is the raw material of every promise to God.
Now faith is the substance (raw material) of things hoped for, the evidence of things not
seen.Hebrews 11:1

The funding of your stewardship will be in direct proportion to the strength of your faith.

… According to your faith and trust and reliance (on the power invested in Me) be it done to you.
Matthew 9:29 Amplified

Key #8 Cast Down Unbelief

If you are in unbelief, you are not operating in faith. Unbelief will keep you from receiving God’s
promised blessings.

So we see that they were not able to enter (into his rest), because of their willingness to adhere to
and trust in and rely on God (unbelief had shut them out).Hebrews 3:19, Amplified

There you have it. Unbelief will shut the windows of heaven. But remember that faith in God’s Word
will bring every blessing of God to your doorstep.

Key #9 Don’t Look Back to Your Old Life

You must let go of the past. Whether it was good or bad, it is over. Keep in mind that your future is
ahead of you, and in Christ it looks bright. Whatever you are involved in for the Lord right now
should be the most important thing in your life.

Jesus said to him, No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back (to the things behind) is fit
for the Kingdom of God.Luke 9:62, Amplified

Remember that with Jesus, things just keep getting better.

Key #10 Maintain Proper Relationships

A turbulent marriage will hinder your prayers and stop the flow of God’s abundance into your
stewardship.

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as
unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not
hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

This is not only true in marriage. The way you interact with other family members, friends, and co-
workers is also important if you desire to live under an open heaven.

Key #11 Walk in Love

Do not allow strife and bitterness into your relationship with your Christian brothers and sisters. It
wills top the increase that comes from your giving.

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother,  and
then come and offer thy gift. Matthew 5:23,24

This verse implies that God will not accept your offerings if you have strife with a brother or sister in
the Lord.

… Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:31

Jesus said no commandment is more important than to walk in love.

Key #12 Believe God’s Proven Ministers

Believing God establishes your life, and believing God’s proven ministers will bring prosperity to your
stewardship.

… Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be
established: believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. 2 Chronicles 20:20

Remember that God has ordained the five- fold ministry to help bring us into maturity in Christ. If
you believe His chosen preachers and teachers, He promises you will prosper.

Key #13 Be Willing to Work

God says that you cannot prosper in His economy without hard work.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither
should he eat.2 Thessalonians 3:10

You must keep in mind that the number one reason for working hard is that you may have money,
not only to meet your won needs, but also to be a blessing.

Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which
is good that he may have to give him that needeth.Ephesians 4:28

You can’t expect a harvest unless you plant seed. If you want to ensure plenty of seed, you must be
willing to work for it.

Key #14 Keep Sin Out of Your Life

If you choose to give sin a place in your life, you will bring a curse upon yourself (Deuteronomy
28:15-68). However, when you choose to keep sin out of your life and obey God, you place yourself
in a position to experience all His blessings.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt harken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to
observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God
will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt harken unto the voice
of the LORD thy God. Deuteronomy 28:1,2

Key #15 Speak the Right Things

Guard your words; speak only of health, life, prosperity, and the godly desires of your heart. Jesus
said you will have what you say.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be
thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he
saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.Mark 11:23

If you want the windows of heaven open over your life, always speak the things that agree with
god’s Word. When your words line up with His Word, you can more easily receive all that God
promises you.

Key #16 Pay Your Pledges to God

Unpaid vows cause God to look at you as a fool.

When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that
which thou hast vowed. Ecclesiastes 5:4

No one wants to be a fool in God’s eyes, for we all know fools do not live under an open heaven.

When you make a promise to god, be wise and fulfill your vow.

Key #17 Perceive God As He Is

Continually renew your mind so that you will always perceive God to be who He truly is – the rich
and generous God of heaven. He is the God who desires to bless, not curse all of His children.

If you perceive God to be harsh and stingy, you incorrect perception will hinder your ability to
receive the good gifts he desires to give you.

If you perceive Him to be good and generous, you will readily receive the abundant life He has
promised you.

… I am come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10;10

Key #18 Refuse to Love Money

The love of money is the root of all evil. This simply means that it is the first step to most sins.

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from
the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.1 Timothy 6;10

Money is not for loving. It is for blessing you and your family, as well as all the families of the earth
(Genesis 12:1-3).

Key #19 Respond to the Cry of the Poor

You must realize the needs of the poor are of primary importance to the Lord. Giving to the poor is
actually lending to God.

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given he will repay
him again.Proverbs 19:17

Ignoring the cry of the poor will bring you to a time of need, and no one will hear your cry for help.

Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be
heard.Proverbs 21:13

Key #20 Be a Doer of the Word

It takes more than just hearing God’s Word to prosper. You must also act upon the Word.

But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1;22

As a doer of the Word, you will qualify yourself to receive god’s blessing.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful
hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25

Key #21 Get Rid of Traditional Thinking About Money

Traditional thinking about money will render god’s truth about it ineffective.
So for the sake of your tradition (the rules handed down by your forefathers), you have set aside
the Word of God (depriving it of force and authority and making it of no effect).Matthew 15:6
Amplified

It doesn’t matter what you have heard all your life; if it doesn’t line up with the Scripture, cast it
aside and allow the Word of God to be effective in your life. Don’t allow your tradition to block you
from the promises.

Key #22 Exercise Patience

The full transformation of your mind will take some time. Be patient. Sowing never brings an instant
harvest. As you exercise patience, you will receive the promise of god.

… ye have need of patience, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the
promise. Hebrews 10:36

It is not time for you to act upon these truths you have learned from the Word of god.

Our God is rich, as the rich God of heaven, He is eager to supply all your needs as well as your desires
through his rich Son, Jesus Christ. As His child, you are standing at the threshold of a bright new
existence of stewardship in the rich Kingdom of your rich God.

In closing, please join the Apostle Paul in making the following affirmation. Let it be the beginning of
a wonderful new vocation as God’s steward.

(I pray that God)  would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with
might by his Spirit in the inner man;

That Christ may dwell upon your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the
fullness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding and abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us,

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus.
