ILAC- International Laboratory Accreditation Co-operation

In order, to enable global acceptance of its accredited Conformity Accreditation Bodies (CABs),
NABL maintains linkages with the international bodies like International Laboratory Accreditation
Co-operation (ILAC) and Asia Pacific Accreditation Co-operation (APAC).
NABL is Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) signatory to ILAC as well as APAC for the
accreditation programs – Testing and Calibration (ISO/IEC 17025), Medical (ISO 15189) and
Proficiency Testing Providers (PTP) (ISO/IEC 17043).
NABL is APAC Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA) Signatory for Reference materials
producers (RMP) (ISO 17034).
Such Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) is based on peer evaluation and acceptance of
other MRA Partner accreditation systems.
ILAC is the international organization for accreditation bodies operating in accordance with
ISO/IEC 17011 and involved in the accreditation of conformity assessment bodies including
Testing Laboratories, Calibration Laboratories, Medical Testing Laboratories, Inspection Bodies
and Proficiency Testing Providers.
The Mutual recognition arrangements enhance the acceptance of products and services across
national borders, thereby creating a framework to support international trade through the removal
of technical barriers.
