B.Sc. in Animation and Multimedia (B.Sc. A&M) is anundergraduate coursefor a successful career in the field of
animation and multimedia. An integral factor for being eligible for this course is that the candidate must have
completed 10+2 from a recognized board of education.
Like all undergraduate program, B.Sc. A&Mis a three years course. B.Sc. A&M also goes by the name of B.Sc in
Animation and Visual Effects and is also clubbed with Graphic Designing and goes by the name B.Sc in Animation,
Multimedia and Graphic Designing or B.Sc in media graphic and animation. B.Sc. AM offers specialization in 2D and
3D animation and VFX. Admission to the programis based onmarks scored in 10+2 and/or an aptitude test taken
by certain colleges.
The average tuition fee for the entire course ranges between 1.58 Lakhs INR to 4.50 Lakhs INR.
B.Sc. A&Mis a course through which students can find ample job opportunities in TV Channels, Production houses,
Design/ Creative Firms, IT software companies, Video Gaming Industry etc. Within these sectors, professionals can
find job profiles like that of a Web designer, Animation Graphic Artist, Game Tester and Reviewer, Software
Developer, Game Developer.
A fresh graduate of this course can expect an average salary of 1.5 Lakhs INR to 2.5 Lakhs INR depending on the
job profile and a particular company. But this salary would only go upwards with experience and more important
positions within the company/organization.

Animation and Multimedia does all of that!
The course imparts knowledge and the right skills in multimedia and animation disciplines that leads to a successful
career in the designing and animation field. Every movie or a TV serial, nowadays require VFX and computerisation
and this course helps in doing just that!
There was a time when this course was not really appreciated, especially in India but in the recent years, it has really
picked up and it is safe to say that a career in animation and multimedia will prove fruitful.

Duration
The duration of this course is just like most of the undergraduate courses: 3 years. If done through
correspondence/ Distant Learning, the course is for the duration of 5 years.

Academic Options after the course

After completing the course, students can pursue anMA in Animation which is available at Mahatma Jyoti Rao
Phoole University, Jaipur or anM.Sc in Multimedia and Animation . Some other options are a PG Diploma course
in Animation Technology which is available at Maeer MIT Institute of Design and Mysore University.

Eligibility Of the Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Animation & Multimedia)

For admission to the program the candidate must havepassed in Class 10th with minimum aggregate 50% including
all subjects from a recognised school.
The candidate must be pass in Class 12/QE with minimum aggregate of 50% in any stream from a recognised school.
Candidates awaiting results of HSC examination can apply too.

Most colleges like Westford Institute of Film TechnologyandBirla Institute of Technologyfollow a three step
system wherein the first step is screening of candidate’s application form. The second step is clearing the aptitude

In other colleges like Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, an admission is based completely on registering for
the course and if the candidate is eligible, they pay the fees and begin with the classes.
