Frontend Engineer II – AWS Ressource Management

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world leader in providing a highly reliable, scalable, low-cost
infrastructure platform in the cloud that powers hundreds of thousands of businesses across 190
countries!

Our team owns several AWS service consoles and is actively developing new products and services
for Amazon Web Services.

We are looking for motivated Front-End Engineers with a proven track record of building web
applications and services. This role offers wide scope, autonomy, and ownership. You’ll have a seat at
the table and will be counted on to be an influential voice in decisions related to system architecture,
feature development, and product strategy.

As a great candidate for this position you should be interested in constantly improving yourself and
others by education and feedback. You like working in a customer oriented environment, dive deep
in logs, metrics and similar tooling to unearth improvements and problems and look forward to work
in a high quality international and diverse team.

You will work with customers, stakeholders, product managers and UX designers to define and
execute the product goals. You challenge yourself and others to constantly come up with better
solutions. You're a thought leader, but you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by
building the solution. Last but not the least you have a high bar for code quality and passion for
design and architecture.

We develop our products in small teams of up to eight engineers, using modern development
methods and technologies. We strive to create high quality, scalable and usable products. Our
standard workflows consist of automated testing, peer reviews and continuous deployment.

You will be a member of the team owning several AWS consoles and the infrastructure operating it -
you will participate in the design new products and features, improving UX, building a
TypeScript/React console, testing, operating and scaling our console.
 Frontend Engineer II – AWS Ressource Management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 Experience in one or more relevant frameworks (React, Angular, Thyme Leaf etc.)
 3+ years of professional front end, web, or mobile software developing
 Solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile
development.
 Operational excellence with eye for right set of metrics
 Debug issues both server and client-side like latencies, page load, responsiveness etc.
 Development experience in data structures, algorithms, OOP
 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of
technical education and work experience
 Good English language skills – our team language
 Living in or willing to relocate to Berlin, Germany

 Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills

 Strong sense of collaboration, ownership, urgency, and drive
 Active interest not just in application code, but also in making great products
 Experience successfully mentoring other engineers
 Great understanding of the entire web stack
