handle all sales, business development and client delivery.

Job Description:
Issue Media Group, a leading independent online media company with publications
across 6 states and in Toronto, Canada, is seeking a Cleveland based Publisher for its
newly launched website ‘Fresh Water’ (www.freshwatercleveland.com) covering the
Cleveland region.

‘Fresh Water’ covers the new innovations, developments, thinking and thought leaders
who are driving the new economy in Cleveland. An online cross between Dwell and
FastCompany magazines, ‘Fresh Water’ seeks to tell the “new stories” at a micro-level
through feature articles, original video, photography, blogs and Q&A’s.

Unlike traditional media sites, ‘Fresh Water’ does not solely rely on advertising.
Through a combination of underwriting support provided by various civic, corporate,
non-profit and philanthropic institutions and customized content syndication deals,
the publisher will be responsible for sales/business development, audience growth and
client management.

The right candidate will understand the Issue Media Group approach to local
journalism and they will embrace the editorial mission and voice of ‘Fresh Water’ in
highlighting the Cleveland region.

Duties include:

-       Generating revenue through sales and business development activities in


Cleveland – Focus on acquisition and retention of clients/underwriters;
-       Maintaining and growing local sales pipeline;
-       Selling existing products/platforms as well as working with Issue Media Group
senior team to customize products for local clientele;
-       Providing weekly development status reports to Issue Media Group senior team;
-       Account management of existing and future clients – including managing
delivery of contractual obligations to clients;
-       Responsible for marketing and audience development of ‘Fresh Water’,
including growing the email list, growing social media networks and establishing
‘Fresh Water’ as a recognizable voice in the Cleveland community through speaking
engagements, presentations and event marketing opportunities;
-       Work with local editorial team (led by Managing Editor) to shape editorial
content and engage clients in the process;
-       Expand upon and customize IMG sales tools for local prospects.

- Qualifications
-       At least 2 years experience in sales, preferably in the online or media spaces
-       Experience in client/account management
-       Ability to manage sales pipeline tool
-       Ability to work independently
-       Must possesses flexibility and means to attend client or prospective client
meetings throughout the week
-       Familiarity with the economic development/civic/corporate/philanthropic/
higher education leadership in the Cleveland region a plus.
