Epicor Mobile Warehouse FAQ
1. Positioning Epicor Mobile Warehouse
Q: Why is EMW more expensive compared to Epicor Handheld?
A: Epicor Mobile Warehouse is a next-generation handheld application, that provides
a great improvement in performance and user interface compared to the Epicor
Handheld. These are some of the most important features that make EMW stand out:
► Greater accuracy, less errors with line level, part level, bin level validation.
► More efficient, faster processing e.g. Pick\Pack\Ship a couple of items with
serial numbers in less than a minute, including invoice (if auto invoice used)
► Native Android, download from the play store, zero footprint install, access
native functions on the device
► New Stocktake\cycle count functionality. Allowing user to stocktake by scanning
printed tag (traditional way), selecting next tag from lookup list (no requirement
to scan printed tag), or by scanning bin and part and system finds tag, and add
blank tags on the fly only when needed

Q: How are upgrades at a special price handled with SVP vs. Pre-SVP customers?
A: Pre-SVP Pricing Customers: These customers own Data Collection licenses and a
separate Handheld Module license. They need to own Handheld to be eligible for the
EMW upgrade discount. These can be upgraded at the special pricing noted above for
the number of devices currently managed (which may or may not be equal to the
concurrent user quantity.) Customers may choose to deactivate some or all of their
pre-SVP Data Collection licenses. As a trade-in benefit, customers will be given a credit
for their unexpired maintenance which can be applied to the maintenance invoice for
Epicor Mobile Warehouse (whether purchased during the promotional period or if full
price is paid).
SVP Pricing Customers: They own Data Collection licenses which include both
Handheld and MES licenses bundled. Customers can purchase Epicor Mobile
Warehouse at the promotional pricing for the number of devices currently managed,
which may or may not equal the number of concurrent users. Customer may choose
to deactivate SVP Data collection licenses that had been purchased for use with
handheld. However, note that if the customer deactivates these licenses and needs
more MES users in the future, these will be purchased at full price (e.g., with
maintenance at 20% per year, a customer would have to not need more MES licenses
for >5 years before it’s less expensive to simply continue paying maintenance).
Q: How are the Handheld licenses mapped when a customer migrates to ERP 10?
A: Their handheld licenses will be automatically mapped to Data Collection licenses
that include handheld (which is on sustaining mode) and MES. If they wish to upgrade
to EMW, they will have to buy the new licenses.
