Information Technology Duties and Responsibilities

1. Administer network and data security, including directory, group policy,
firewalls, virus protection, and email security

2. Perform data backups to ensure all company-owned work is saved

3. Install and update network system improvements

4. Install and configure wireless networking equipment

5. Monitor servers, LAN/WAN, and Wi-Fi to ensure full coverage

6. Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software and
features

7. Evaluate connectivity issues, equipment, and software and hardware

8. Respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.

9. Provide helpdesk and technical support either by phone, remote access, or

site
visits
10. Oversee troubleshooting for system errors
11. Set up equipment for new users and employees
12. Consult with vendors and clients to integrate and update company technology

13. Ensure system optimization for all technology resources

Application of IT in Share Trading

Gone are the days when stock brokers use to shout at the trading hall of
a stock exchange quoting their price. Now-a-days with the help of computer
terminal and internet connection, purchasing and selling of share takes place
everywhere. A client can look at the transactions taking place through the
computers. The volume of the shares traded and the turnover has got
consistently improved because of the online share trading.

Application of IT in Banking

Tremendous improvement has taken place in the Indian banking sector

because of the IT revolution. All the private and foreign banks have gone for

customer. The cost incurred on infrastructure, furniture and employees has got
decreased because of the application of IT.

'Creativity' is the slogan chanted in Ad Agencies. Creativity involves

doing things differently. Things can be done differently with the help of IT.
The Ad Agencies use lot of software for creating advertisements. Lot of
animations and graphics can be done using IT tools.
