is small hills and rainforest. Thus,
houses in Vietnam reflects the local
geography and climate. The slope
of the roof relates to the amount of
rain water in each area.

 People build their houses on the highest
place or on the top of mountain, so that
in the flooding season, water won’t flow
away their houses
The materials are flexible, depending on
each area. It can be wood, thatch, neoze-
hous or bamboo
The floor is lifted above the ground to
avoid the water going into the house in
the rainny season

The Mall located at the very heart of Islington

town centre, close to Islington Green. It was
originally a tram shed and then converted
into an antique market in 1979. Nowadays,
the mall is mostly emty and it is used for rent
to the retail shops.

Amount of grey water can be used for each area

The diagram shows the drainage system and the col-
lecting points of new roof. Then the pipes inside the
structure will bring grey water to the specific points
of the building
Inspired from the flexibility of bamboo,
the structure and pipes are also bended
to hold up the roof. The material can be
transparent such as polycarbonate, so
we can see how the water is going down
