PERFORMANCE NEET'S
With today's high energy costs, it's
more important than ever to specify
energy efficient systems for area light-
ing designs. The new Supra-Lyte lu-
minaire from Wide-Lite is the perfect
choice for parking, roadway, and area
lighting tasks. with no compromise in
appearance or performance.

The lighting experts at Wide-Lite uti-

lized advanced materials and technol-
ogies to design the Supra-Lyte. The
result is a long-life luminaire that
provides maximum performance, effi-
ciency, durability, and ease ot installa-
tion and maintenance.

LIGHT DISTRIBUTION
Supra-Lyte uses the inherent pho-
tometric advantages of a vertical HID
amp for bellerright distnbLlion. Typi-
cal HID lamps radiate far more light
from the sides of the arc tube rather
than from the ends. When horizontal
lamps are used in parking applications,
too much light is directed straight
down, causing excessive light near the
pole. Vertical lamps put littie light
straight down and allow maximum light
to be reflected in the beam peak.

produce a "tear-drop" type of pho-
tometric distribution. This type of pat-
tern is designed to reduce glare and
excessive spill light on adjacent prop-
erty. The Supra-Lyte is designed to
reduce glare and spill light as well, but
instead of a "tear-drop" pattern, it
produces a "bat-wing type of distri-
bution. This creates two important
benefits:
1. A more uniform lighting installation Supra-Lyte
can be designed because the hot "Batwing"
spot near the base of the pole is Pattern
eliminated.
2. Poles can be spaced further apart
because the light is "punched" to
the normally low illumination points
between the poles.
The end-user benefits from a Supra-
Lyte application with fewer fixture and
pole equipment requirements and a
more uniform lighting installation, with-
out compromising critical minimum
point illuminance criteria.
