Tarang Software Technologies Private Limited, Bangalore February 2002 – July 2002
Software Analyst
Tarang is a 150 employee strong Bangalore based software product company in the banking/financial domain. It
had revenue of $13 million in the second year of its operation (2002).
Responsibilities • Study of market scenario, evaluation of business requirements and analysis, design and
implementation of software modules for Financial Account Aggregation applications.
The products generated revenue of around $10 million.
Consulting • Part of the team that gave technical advise to NTT (Japan), Monex (Japan) and HDFC
Experience Bank (India) on their Account Aggregation business need.
• Part of the three member team that presented the need analysis, proof of concept,
hardware and software requirement and cost analysis of Financial Account
Aggregation service for HDFC Bank. Won the contract and delivered the product.
Achievements • Key member of the team that designed, implemented and delivered the FIRST
Financial Account Aggregation Solution in India for HDFC Bank
• Consistently achieved “Exceeds Expectations” grade in performance appraisal - given to
only the top 5% of all employees.

Summer Analyst
I did my internship at the TCS-GE Capital division of TCS. TCS handles the complete IT systems and processes of
GE Capital.
• Analyzed GE Capital’s business processes and the existing IT implementation of the same.
• Identified areas of improvement in the Loans and Leasing business software modules.
• Drafted business requirements and high level design of the suggested changes with the GE Capital’s team
and worked closely with TCS development team on implementation of the same.
• The prototype developed led to 15% faster processing rate and better data integrity over the old module.

• Performance Appraisal Software Project
Developed a Performance Appraisal software in Visual Basic and Microsoft Access for Professor Sanjay
Verma, IIMA.
• Awareness to Trial (Live project for HLL) First Year Member, Team Size: 11, Insight 2002
Developed model to increase trials of HLL’s herbal brand, Ayush.
Study involved literature review, game design & analysis, questionnaire design (400 respondent) and
statistical analysis of questionnaire data. Results have been used by HLL.
• Equity Research Report on Wipro Investment and Portfolio Management Course
Carried out Firm analysis of Wipro Ltd. Buy recommendations were given for trading Wipro stock based
on company & industry analysis and economic scenario.
• Repositioning of Malai Chaska (Live Project for Britannia Ind.) Retail Management Course
Conducted retailer (25 retailers) and customer (150 customers) level surveys for Britannia Industries to
identify the reasons behind the market failure of its product Malai Chaska.
Recommended repositioning of Malai Chaska as a health product. The print advertisements now
highlight this fact.
IIT Bombay
• Developed the FIRST non-software commercial product to be sold by IIT, Bombay as part of my M. Tech.
project (2000). The product – “Pranay”, a medical oxygen concentrator – is being sold to hospitals and nursing
homes
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
• Ranked 823 out of 1,20,000 students appearing in IIT-JEE 1993
• One of the 750 (out of 1,50,000) students to get the National Talent Search Examination Scholarship in 1991.
