We have decided that the grammar component should have a stronger impact on the final grade, followed by structure & vocabulary, and, finally, relevance. Notice that the spelling
component is now included in the vocabulary section.

We would also like to highlight the fact that what matters is not only the number of errors, but also the type of errors. For instance, errors involving Subject-Verb agreement, or involving
incorrect verb forms are too serious at this level.

Since the maximum points for grammar is 6, this adjustment was considered necessary.

I can’t see the difference between this and the previous one.

We also understand that a zero in any of the aspects involves a direct fail: if the grammar, the vocabulary or the structure is too poor then they are below the required level; and if they
write about a different topic, they cannot pass (it would be too easy for them, simply to learn something by heart and then use it no matter what the prompt is....!!!)
