Saint Michael the Archangel Academy

Semi-detailed lesson plan in General Physics 2

March 9-13, 2020

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson 100% of the students shall be able to attain at least 80% level of
proficiency to;
1. Discuss the components of the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology.
2. Illustrate the molecular structure of DNA, RNA and proteins.
3. Differentiate the process of transcription and translation.

II. Subject matter

III. Learning Task

Routine: Prayer
Checking the attendance
Passing the assignment

IV. Learning Activity

A. Review/Motivation
The students will do the activity called “Act Don’t Tell”

B. Lesson Proper
1. What are the components of Central Dogma?
 DNA
 RNA
 Cell
2. What are the types of RNA?
 mRNA
 rRNA
 tRNA
3. How do the types of RNA vary to each other?
 mRNA copies the strand of the DNA. tRNA carries the anti-cdon
of the mRNA. Lastly, rRNA helps to initiate the production of
proteins.
4. How do the transcription and translation work?
 Transcription uses a strand of DNA as a template to build a
molecule called RNA. The RNA molecule is the link between
DNA and the production of proteins. During translation, the RNA
molecule created in the transcription process delivers information
from the DNA to the protein building machines
C. Generalization
Draw the molecular structure of DNA, RNA and proteins.

D. Application/Valuing
As a student, how will you promote equality to avoid Bullying?

V. Evaluation
A. Write down the components of the Central Dogma and what are their functions?
B. Essay (5 points)
How do the process of translation and transcription differs from each other?
