2.2. SWA /SWD cards

Outline

SWA/SWD are the main control card. Its main function is to control whole OLT

equipment and deal with broadband services. SWA/SWD communicate with the service

cards through the GE/10GE bus, thus complete the configuration, management and

control of FHL1012B/016B/040B equipment. At the same time, it carries out system

alarms, performance information processing through in-band network management

channel. SWA/SWD achieves the management of all cards of FHL1012B/016B/040B by

TCP/IP protocol.

SWA is the main control card for FHL1016B/F,it can be hot swappable. SWD is the

main control card for FHL1012B,it can not be hot swappable. The SWD integrated SWA

and HUP function.

The SWA cards are located in slot 7 and 8 of FHL1040Bsubrack. One subrack can be

configured with two SWA to achieve standby function. (Here only the description of

3.1. Power calbe &Earth wire

Application

48V power cable

Internal power line is used to provide the working voltage of cabinet.

FHL1012B/016B/040B uses earth wire to be PGND feed cable.

 One end of power cable connects to the output terminal of distributor.

 The other end of power cable connects to power interface board of cabinet.

220V power cable

It provides the working voltage of cabinet. One end of power cable connects to power

socket, the other end connects to power socket of FHL1012B/016B/040B’s PWR (power

card).

3.3. Ethernet Cable

Application

Ethernet cable can be used to connect a computer to the maintenance port of SWA for

local maintenance, also can be used for the connection or cascade of the electric uplink

port.

Ethernet cable is divided into two types: straight-through and cross-over.

 Straight-through cable is used to connect terminal equipment (computer) to

network device (switch) port. The remote connection of network maintenance

terminal or network management server through network can use

straight-through cable.

 Cross-over cable is used for the direct connection between two terminals

(computers) or between two swich ports. The direct connection between

maintenance port and maintenance terminal or PC and PC, can use cross-over

cable.

NOTE:

 The RJ-45 connector of cable is called plug, which is used for connecting

unshielded twisted pair (UTP-3, UTP-5) cable or shielded twisted pair (STP) cable

etc.

 In order to achieve the best of Electrical transport properties, it needs to

ensure that both two pairs of wires connecting PIN1to PIN2 andPIN3 to PIN4

are twisted-pair cables.
