I. OBJECTIVES:

1. To value the contributions of local writers to the development of


regional literary traditions.
2. Identify how tone is related to literary style and how both help
create a unique meaning in the story.
3. Respond critically to the story and consequently articulate yhis
response by writing a reflection paper.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: The Safe House by Sandra Nicole Roldan


Code:
Materials: Xerox Copy of the literary text, manila paper and pentel pen

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Daily Routine
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Classroom management

B. The teacher will allot 30 minutes to review the past lessons highlighting the
most essential and relevant concepts.
C. The teacher will ask the following questions to the students
1. What are you willing to sacrifice for the good of the nation? Would you be
willing to die for your country?
2. If you had children, do you think your decision would still be the same?
Why or why not?
3. When parents decide to be part of a revolution, how do you think this
would be affect their children? Explain your answer.
4. The teacher will ask the students to form 5 groups and distribute the copy
of the story.
5. Give each group task. Post it on the board.

IV. EVALUATION
Write a reflection paper on how you feel about the protagonists decision in
the end. Would you have made the same decision, or do you think you
would have followed in her father’s footsteps. Do you symphatize with her
decision or not? You can add personal insights and examples to develop
your paper. The rubric for the paper should be as follows.

- Content- 50%
- Language- 20%
- Organization- 20%
- Mechanics- 10%
