MOTION FOR RESOLUTION OF PARLIAMENT UNDER ARTICLE 179 CTAUSE 4 OF THE

CONSTITUTION PROVIDING FOR CREATION OF NEW COUNTIES

WHEREAS, Article 179 14) of the Constitution of the Republic of Ugondo (os

omended) provides for the criterio for olterotion of boundories of or creotion of

Administrotive Units including new Counties;

AND WHEREAS Section 7 (7) of the Locol Governments Act Cop. 243, (os
omended) empowers Porlioment to opprove olternotion of Boundories of or
creotion of o new County;

AWARE THAT, for effective odministrotion ond representotion ond the need to
bring services closer to the People, the Locol Governmenf Councils of Kiboole,
Kotokwi, Agogo, lsingiro, Kisoro, Nokoseke, Kibogo, Buhweju, Lomwo, Kokumiro,
Nokopiripirit, Mubende, Kwonio, ond Jinjo hove expressed the wishes of the
people for creotion of the Counties of Buyonjo Eost , Ngoriom , Agogo West ,

Bukongo North , Bukimbiri , Nokoseke Centrol , Kibogo West , Buhweju West ,

Lomwo Eost , Bugongoizi South , Chekwi Eost , Buwekulo South , Kwonio North,
West Budomo Centrol ond Kogomq North respectively,

AND WHEREAS, the creotion of the soid New Counties is supported by the
mojority of the Members of Porlioment;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY PARLIAMENT;

1. THAT the following new Counties be creoted qs follows;

i. Buyonjo Eost County out of Buyonjo County in Kiboole District ond the
remoining be colled Buyonjo County;

be colled Usuk County;

iii. Agogo West County out of Agogo County in Agogo District ond the
remoining be colled Agogo County;

v. Bukimbiri County out of Bufumbiro Eost ond Bufumbiro North Counties in
