A landscape roof is what most people would picture as a traditional garden on a concrete roof that is park-like, accessible and with
various amenities. A typical landscape roof consists of vegetation ranging from lawns, flowering plants and shrubs to small trees
in a moderate to heavy planting media over a geotextile filter and a drainage layer.
A landscape roof is an attractive yet functional green alternative to traditional roofs. It opens up additional amenity space for
building users, reduces storm water runoff by assimilating large amounts of rainwater, minimises air pollution by collecting
airborne particulates and storing carbon, reduces noise transfer, shields both the waterproofing membrane and the roof itself from
the harmful effects of daily sunlight and UV exposure and keeps the building interior cool and comfortable by providing an effective
insulation against extreme temperatures.
