Procedure: Exporting from TrainView 2

Procedure
Go to the Trends screen in TV2 and click on the disk symbol (hovering over the disk symbol, it will show the
text Export Archive).
It doesn’t matter which controller trends are actually shown in the screen, since all trends will be exported.

The Archive Export Utility pop-up screen (as shown below) will now show up; please click on the Advanced
button which appears at the left bottom corner.

The advanced Archive Export Utility pop-up screen appears with sub tabs called General, Time Range,
Content and Comments.

General tab
Please review that under the General tab
- Compress is selected
- (option) Split Zip into Multiple Files is selected
- (option) 512 KB is given as the file size

Time Range tab

Under the Time Range tab, you can give in the time period and date of which you would like to
archive/export the data – as shown below.

Please click on the From button to select the start date and time, and click on To to select the end date and
time.

Select the From date and time.

Select the To date and time.

Content tab
Under the Content tab, you can select the way in which the data is exported. Please use ADaM Native
Format (which is the pre-selected option).

Comments tab
This can be left blank, but there is room to give in any comments if the recording is of a particular event.

After completing everything in the several Tabs of the Archive Export Utility, use the Done button to go back
to the first screen of the Archive Export Utility.

Please note that now in the From: and To: fields the correct chosen date and time should be mentioned.
Also, in the field after the words Save as the name and folder will be mentioned to which the archive will be
exported. In this example, it’s c:\TrainTools\Export\7045_SFB_090714_0935+5mins

After clicking on the Save button, the TrainView program will start exporting. It will say so in the Status Bar,
and once it is completed it will show Export Completed Successfully as you can see in the below example.

Once the export has completed successfully, click on the Cancel button.

If there’s more than 512 KB of data, there will be several files, if the “split option” was used during export,
with the same name but with different extension.

Please copy the whole folder from the TV2 PC and send it zipped to us. Or, if this gets to large to send by
email, please send separate files from the Export folder.
