and Simple Past Tense

Simple Continuous Tense

01 To show habitual actions:


Nina goes to bed at ten every night.
Mother is cooking dinner now.

02 To show a future action


Renma is leaving for London tomorrow.
Freddie is playing tennis this evening.
03 Habitual actions
Use words like always and constantly.
1. My father is always scolding the gardener
2. The baby is constantly crying.

Action that is done many times


04 Use words like always and frequently.
1. My dog is always barking at the neighbour.
2. Benny is frequently changing her hairstyle.
Verb to be : am, is and are put before the
verbs, then add –ing

Example:
1. I am reading a book now.
2. Siera is joining a music course.
3. The boys are walking to school.
4. The teacher is marking our work.
5. The cat is chasing a rat.
Remember!

Is: for 1 (The girl is/ Marcus is)


Are: more than 1 (The girls are/ they
are/ we are)
Am: Only for ‘I” (I am a girl)
