Home Automation gives you access to control devices in your home from a mobile
device anywhere in the world.

Lighting, appliances, electrical outlets, heating and cooling systems– are hooked up
to a remotely controllable network.

 Provide improved convenience, comfort, energy,

efficiency and security.
 There is an increasing demand for smart homes, where
appliances react
automatically to changing environmental conditions and
can be easily controlled through one common device.

This project presents a possible solution whereby the user

controls devices by using their existing mobile phone ,where
control is communicated to the Microcontroller from
a mobile phone through its Bluetooth interface.

A home automation system typically connects controlled

devices to a central hub or "gateway". The user interface for
control of the system uses either wall-mounted terminals,
tablet or desktop computers, a mobile phone application, or
a Web interface, that may also be accessible off-site through
the Internet.
 Saves time
 Saves money(long run)
 Self maintenance
 Security
 Makes life easier
Advantages commonly attributed to automation include higher production rates and
increased productivity, more efficient use of materials, better product quality,
improved safety, shorter workweeks for labour, and reduced factory lead times. ...
Worker safety is an important reason for automating an industrial operation.

3. BLUETOOTH (HC-05
MODULE)
4. RELAY
5. RELAY IC (ULN2003)
6. TRANSFORMER (220V/12V)
7. VOLTAGE REGULATOR IC 7805
8. DIODE BRIDGE
9. LED’S AND BULB’S
10. RESISTOR,CAPICTOR AND
CONNCETING WIRES
11. SUPPLY BOARD
 HC-05 is a Bluetooth Smart
module targeted for low- power
sensors and accessories.
 It integrates all features
required for
a Bluetooth Smart
application.
 It is powered directly from a
standard 3V coin cell battery or a
voltage regulator.
 In the lowest power sleep mode it
merely consumes 500 nA and will
wake up within a few hundred
microseconds.
 It is preferable to use Bluetooth
because now a days people have
their smart phones with them all
the time, since the smart phones
have Bluetooth facility in them,
thus it's better to use Bluetooth
rather than using RF remotes or
IR remotes. Have you ever seen
people carrying remotes???

 The Arduino board receives the user

commands in the form of numbers from the
smart phone through Bluetooth interface.
These numbers are assigned to the home
appliances and the appliances are toggled
either ON or OFF on receiving the numeric
command. The Arduino sketch looks for the
numeric commands from the Bluetooth
module and operates relays to switch
appliances.
s  A relay is an electrically
operated switch.
 Relays are used where it is
necessary to control a
circuit by a low-power
signal.
 Relays protect electrical
circuits from overload or
faults.
 First Bluetooth module connected to the
android phone by the Bluetooth.

 Android phone already have a application to

provide the interference between mobile and the
Bluetooth module.

 By using the application ,the mobile send the

command signal to
microcontroller by the Bluetooth.

 Bluetooth and relay IC is connect to the

microcontroller by its pins.
 The relay is connected to the load by its pins.
 When microcontroller receives the
command from mobile ,it operate the
load.
 This wireless technology is especially useful in home
environment, where there exists hardly any infrastructure to
interconnect intelligent appliances.
 It could be suitably used for home automation in a cost-
effective manner. Operating over unlicensed, universally
available frequency of 2.4 GHz, it can link digital devices
within a range of 10 m (expandable to 100 m, by
increasing the transmitted power) at the speed of 1 Mbps.
 Building upon this theme; we propose a home
automation system based on Bluetooth technology.
 The overall system should be fast enough to realize the true
power of wireless technology.
VIDEO MODEL OF PROJECT
 Yet there is an increasing

 The main advantage of “Home Automation through Android Mobile” is
that the “Physically Challenged and Disabled People” .
 Replace television, air conditioner etc., remotes for sleep mode.
 Smart Home.
 Managing all of your home devices from one place. The convenience factor
here is enormous.
 Flexibility for new devices and appliances.
 Maximizing home security.
 Remote control of home functions.
 Increased energy efficiency.
 Improved appliance functionality.
 Home management insights.
 Home Automation is undeniably a resource which can make a home
environment automated. People can control their electrical devices via
these Home Automation devices and set up controlling actions through
Mobile.
 In future this product may have high potential for marketing.
 Homes of the future may very well come with smart home features
built in, considering the rate at which these technologies are being
developed and integrated into our everyday lives. Still, some people
may want to install and further customize home automation devices
themselves.
 Customers are increasingly looking for customizable devices, so that
their experiences can be tailored precisely to their preferences .
