STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I am pursuing Post graduation in Industrial Engineering (Quality Engineering and

Management) at College Of Engineering (Guindy Campus) Anna University, Chennai. I
have completed my under graduation in Pondicherry University, my penchant grew
deeper and has increased many folds during the four years of study in Mechanical Engineering
which had many diverse fields like machine design, manufacturing technology, applied
mechanics, finite element method, metallurgy, thermodynamics, kinematics, management and
environmental studies. With laboratory courses complementing, the program has induced a
strong grasp of fundamentals and practical knowledge.

During my childhood, I was always intrigued by the working of complex mechanisms and
equipments. I used to spend a lot of time trying to explore and figure out their principle. In
school, I found myself drawn towards subjects that required in-depth analysis and logical
thinking. I was awed by their simple fundamentals which form the governing basis for lot of
machineries. In order to known these ideas, I took part in science fairs and practical workshops.
This exposure taught me the importance of simple and practical design. To understand the
principles and practical aspects of designing and manufacturing a product, I decided to pursue
my career in mechanical engineering.

In a world of transition, Mechanical Engineers are in need of designing a new system or

improvising an existing system. Mechanical Engineers are the ones who analyse and
manufacture a designed product to make exist in real world application. Hence made my career
objective is directed towards working on manufacturing systems.

Industrial Engineering is one of the prolific and widely introduced careers prospective which
actually builds and helps to see through the major objectives and goals of the students. Research
in Industrial Engineering will help me to boost my confidence and let me helps to know the
competitive factors and performance of a business concern and the basic manner in which the
technology changes affect the organizational structure, organizational strategy, long term
business perspective, manufacturing, distribution network, supply chains and the standardized
systems. Just to be aware of all the related issues and to gain a prolific knowledge and degree I
opted for this major course as my career development objective.

Every product has a story and it is the job of supply chain managers to give it a happy ending.
But in today's global marketplace, where materials come from all over the world, and billions of
customers are on every continent, supply chains have become extremely complex. As the global
marketplace continues to evolve, supply chain managers will be responsible for dealing with
increased demand as population grow, the shrinking amount of global resources and the rapid
pace of technology. With the advent of Information Technology, modern Supply Chain
Management gets the necessary data to develop and implement integrated plans. As a supply
chain manager, innovation and problem solving would be part of my daily routine and this caters
well to my needs.
I found that by taking research program at your university would be able to venture out into
various subject domains and also develop a strong sense of independence coupled with
responsibility and self-reliance. It would also help me to learn global standards in this field and
become attentive to the worldwide competition, that I contemplate would be an excellent
facilitate on behave of me to make a strong contribution in the field of Industrial Engineering.

In the future, I see myself being molded by the forces and revelations. My perception and the
definition of accomplishment might undergo metamorphosis. But one thing that is not going to
change is my tireless quest for knowledge and drive in me to explore the unexplored.

Finally, I take this opportunity to thank you for enabling me to express myself; I do hope that I
may be offered admission for research program in your graduate school. I assure that I will
strive hard to match the high standards set by your university.

 Description: A combination of an internal combustion engine and a battery electric drive
system to increase fuel economy and reduce emissions. Here we come up with new idea
of using IC engine and electric drive.
