PRE PLASTER CHECKS

Check all the Reinforced concrete structures. The Concrete


surface should be dressed if required RCC members

dressing if required, honeycombed and improper surface
rectified.

Has the concrete surface been Hacked (small depressions to

create a rough surface for bonding)?

Have all the Bricks and Blocks received a minimum of 7 days

curing before Plastering?
Are all the Concrete and Wall surfaces cleaned of dust, dirt,
debris, grease, form release agent, laitance or any other
4
detrimental materials (biological growth) that may affect
bonding of plaster?
Have the Electrical and Plumbing Lines been laid (If they are
4 concealed inside Blockwork). Completion of concealed
electrical/plumbing lines/modular boxes fitting.

Check if PVC hexagonal chicken mesh (20G with opening


8 10X10mm & 150mm wide) or GI chichen mesh in installed at
(This will avoid cracks in the plaster later)
· Interface between brick/block and RCC element.
· Around door frame
· Around Window lintels
· Around opening of Electrical Services.
Has the window marble sill fixing completed? (Sill is the
9 granite installed on 4 surfaces of window. Plaster should be
done after Sill installation Only)
10 Covering of electrical boxes (to be in line & level)
What Brand of Gypsum plaster brand is being used? (Should
11
be specifed by Architect or Clinet)
Level pad given on wall.(Minimum 6mm & maximum 18 mm.
12 If thickness is above 18 mm thickness,cement dash coat to
be done & cured)
DURING PLASTER STATEMENTS

Has the contractor applied Bonding agent on the wall, if

Is the plaster mix quanitty regulated? (plaster mixed to be

consumed with in 15mins)

4 Is the Surface smoothly finished and Flat?


Is the paster work terminated at groove lines, corners,

openings & no visible line of termination is observed?
POST PLASTER CHECKS

Use Alumium straight edge or thread and place it on the


1 surface of the plaster to check if there are no undulations on
the plaster. Check the wall length wise and diagonally also

2 Check if the plaster is truly vertical (Check with a plumb)

TAP the wall at multiple places as see if you get any hollow
3 sound. If hollow sound is observed then the defective area
has to be removed.

Other defective plasters includes hairline cracks and blisters


4
are to be rectified.
