Evidence: Speak your mind.

As an introduction I would like to say I’m not a big fan of politics, this exercise was not
easy to me, because most of the times I rather not to give my two cents worth to the
political matter.

1. A political system is optimal not because it produces the policies that you prefer. It
produces the policies that much smarter people prefer.
I completely disagree with the statement above. The political system is not even optimal,
it has been years of people, not so smart trying to govern and produce policies that will
only benefit the powerful and political class. Furthermore there will never be a policy
accepted by the government that people prefer.

2. The ideal system depends on the cultural attributes of the population.

In my opinion there is no ideal system. It does not depend on the cultural attributes of the
population, the system should be able to change to the good the cultural attributes.

3. Individuals should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on their ability.
I completely disagree with this statement, this is largely due to the fact that if only people
with certain abilities are accepted in schools or jobs, there would be no chance for those
individuals who necessitate to develop their skills or are in the look for those abilities most
children don’t even know they will be good at. It would be some sort of discrimination.
Yet we have many political personalities who have risen in their political careers, not
based on their skills, but in the power or bonds they might have with powerful individuals.

4. Unlike the private sector, the government is motivated by public interest.

That is what we’ve been taught, government will have been working for the public and
personal interest for the remaining of the years to come.

So I’m not 100% agree, however I can tell that some government policies and benefits are
settle thanks to the importance of the public interest and welfare of population.

5. Taxes allow the government to create jobs and provide welfare programs for
people in need.
Without a shadow of a doubt taxes are one of the most important income of the
government, I’m undecided whether to think taxes allow to create jobs, however I
completely agree that taxes in various opportunities provide welfare, not only for people
in need, but for every individual belonging to that government population.

6. Governmental programs encourage people to become dependent and lazy instead

of inspiring them to become hard-working and independent.
I completely agree on this statement. I will like to turn to one example that will describe
why is that I’m believe the statement above is so true.
Once I lived in a rural area, where opportunities are limited and I’ve witnessed how
families made their call to keep on bringing to the world newborns, the reason is because
they will have been receiving subsidizations by the time kids turn five years old, benefits
such as supplies and money for five years, then a new kid most likely will be born, so the
chain will continue.
