There are numerous factors which caused public disorder during the post covid-19 period.

The
outcry of the public when it comes to the competency of the protocols which were
implemented in order to suppress the spread of the coronavirus especially in areas which have
cases of community transfer. Protests involving social injustice when it comes to the handling
and treatment of public safety officers towards the general populace and how certain people in
authority have not yet been verdict although clearly there are numerous evidence and
documentation of them breaching quarantine protocols, this has led the public to shame and
ridicule public authority. These events show that even in times of crisis and disasters the
effectiveness of implementing and enforcing laws still serve as one of the most difficult
challenges the government must face, especially with the presence of social media, even the
most miniscule of details can be reported and shared towards the general public which might
also pose as a threat towards peace and order since not all of what is shared online is real
news, some of them are made up or just plain fake information.

Another notable event which took place was the death of Former army corporal Winston
Ragos, he was shot by a policeman who raised self-defense as a justification for his action
because he believed the victim was reaching for a firearm inside his bag which was later
proven false by investigators because no firearm was possessed by the victim, the whole
altercation was documented and spread like wildfire across all news outlets, it made the public
distrust the public authority even more. This incident showed how some personnel lack training
and proper handling of persons which have mental health issues, in this case the former army
veteran had post-traumatic stress syndrome. And recently the problem which is causing
numerous mass demonstrations nowadays involves the anti-terror bill, the draft for the Anti-
Terrorism Act of 2020 passed both the House of Representatives and the Senate, and President
Rodrigo Duterte is expected to quickly sign the bill into law. This event has sparked a new
controversy regarding democracy, but in so far as overreaching of power the Secretary of
National Defense Delfin Lorenzana assures that there are safeguards specifically aimed towards
civil liberties.
