Definition of Terms
Cyber Bullying
Acts of cruelty committed using the internet, any electronic communication including social media of
any kind, text messaging, instant messaging, websites and email that has a strong effect on one’s
dignity, causing reasonable fear or physical or emotional disturbance, self-esteem or reputation such
as but not limited to the following:
a. Repeatedly sending offensive, rude, and insulting photos, videos or messages.
b. Posting of any derogatory information about the victim/s
c. Posting or sending photos, videos whether digitally altered or not , or were taken with or without
consent with the intention to humiliate or embarrass the victim
d. Breaking into an email, social networking or any electronic account using the victim’s identity to
send or distribute humiliating and embarrassing materials to any website and social media site.

Victim- any student of the University of Cordilleras officially enrolled for the current
term for the current school year who experienced Cyber bullying.

Parent- includes any person who is related to the victim or who is legally
assigned as the guardian of the victim.
Attack- an act of doing the bullying activity towards the victim.
Report- Communicating the incident to proper authorities of the University by
providing all necessary evidences and other things that are needed to
support the complaint.
Respondent/s- any person who is accused of the attack.
School Authorities- any teacher, administrator of the University of the Cordilleras

2. How to deal with Cyber Bullying
2.1 The victim must report the incident to proper authorities like the subject teacher, adviser, or
directly to the student conduct coordinator to initially address the case.
2.1 If the case is reported to subject teachers or adviser, they must properly endorse it the grade
level student conduct coordinator. Subject teachers and advisers must submit incident report to
SCC.
2.2 The student conduct coordinator must immediately conduct initial interview (face to face or
online) with the presence of the parent or guardian of the victim.
2.3 During the initial interview inform the parent and the students about the procedures to be taken
to address the case after gathering information and validation of evidence about the case.
2.4 The student conduct coordinator must inform the respondent/s and the parent that there is a
complaint and that there will be an investigation to be conducted.
2.5. After the initial interview to the victim and informing the respondent about the complaint, the
SCC will proceed to the major investigation of the victim and the respondent/s.
2.6 SCC will conduct the investigation to the victim. During the investigation, SCC will validate each
of the evidence presented. The victim will be asked to narrate again how the incident started and how

3.2 Inform immediately parents about the concern on cyber bullying.
3.3 Do not disclose to anyone about the ongoing investigation of the attack. Observe data privacy
3.4 Make sure to cooperate to the investigation of the attack by attending to conferences done by
Authorities of the University.
4. Respondent/s
4.1 Accused are required to attend all scheduled conferences with the parent or guardian.
4.2 If proven guilty after all conferences and investigation, respondents must comply
to sanctions given by the University.
