ANNUAL SUPERVISORY PLAN

Academic Year 2018-2019
FIRST SEMESTER (Quarters I and II)

RATIONALE

Teachers play a crucial role in improving the quality of the teaching and learning
process. Good teachers are vital to raising student achievement. Hence, enhancing teacher
quality ranks foremost in the many educational reform efforts toward quality education.
The Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), which was signed into policy
by Department of Education Secretary Maria Leonor Briones through DepEd Order No. 42,
s.2017, articulates what constitutes teacher quality through well-defined domains, strands and
indicators that provide measures of professional learning, competent practice and effective
engagement across teachers’ career stages.
To help realize the main thrust of the Department of Education (DepEd) capitalized in
PPST, the Master Teachers are encouraged to conduct instructional supervision to identify the
needs of the teachers, primarily those who are still novice in the field of teaching in public
schools.
As stipulated in the Results-Based Performance Management System (RPMS) Manual (p.
5, indicator 1.2.2), Master Teachers are expected to provide support and mentoring to
colleagues in their professional development, as well as work collaboratively with them to
enhance the potential for learning and practice of their colleagues; and, continually seek to
develop their professional knowledge and practice by reflecting on their own needs and those
of their colleague and learners.
The following are the teachers at the Alaminos City National High School, Senior High
School (SHS) Department who are deemed to necessitate instructional assistance as they have
just been teaching in the school for less than three (3) years.
