1. During month of May 2017, following cases of tower collapse in BSPTCL system were observed

2. The cyclonic storm has caused large scale damage in BSPTCL system. Total seven nos. of tower
collapsed in four transmission lines of BSPTCL on 15.05.2017 (Night), Two (2) nos. of tower on
17.05.2017 (evening) in one transmission line, one no. of tower on 23.05.2017 (evening/night),
25.05.2017, 19.06.2017 in one transmission line each. A large no. of trees uprooted & fallen on
the road/ vehicle causing massive damages in DISCOM system also.
3. In PGCIL many towers also collapsed in three no. of transmission lines of PGCIL system i.e. 400
kV Kodarma- Bokaro D/C line, 400 kV Kahalgaon (NTPC)- Farakka I & II & 765 kV Bodhgaya-
Banaras line. Certain S/Y equipments at PGCIL also damaged. e.g. 400 kV B-Ph LA of 200 MVA
ICT-II at Banka (PG), CVT & BPI of 400 kV BSF- Banka ckt-I.
4. As step of immediate restoration, three nos. of ERS in 132 KV Biharsharif – Hathidah
ckt-1 were erected after collapse of towers at location no. - 421, 422 & 423.
5. In case of power failure from alternate source, might have caused power
restriction/ TPF in nearby areas.
6. In other lines, keeping in view the emergency work, towers were erected by
arranging nearby available different agencies without inviting tender.
7. The expenditure incurred in restoration of above lines are as follows:
