Essay
“Romeo and Juliet” is a classic tale of love and despair, and
throughout the play we see the large role that fate plays in the
demise of the two young lovers. Both of the characters come
from different families who are feuding. This shows that the
Romeo and Juliet needed to keep their relationship in secret
because neither Romeo`s nor Juliet`s parents would agree to
their marriage. This tragedy can also be compared with
common situations in real life as well but maybe not to this
extent that we see. By this I`m saying that true love can’t be
stopped. It`s a feeling that you can`t simply ignore whether you
are forbidden from seeing that person or you won`t have your
families blessing. I will give a clear example of this that I
accidently came upon recently. It`s a story about the same
subject as this play. The only different thing in this story in
comparison with the play is that their families weren`t feuding.
However, the social class role and wealth is the main factor.
The girl in the story came from a very wealthy family that
wanted the best for their daughter – education, future, etc.
That guy that she was in love though was very from her
parent`s criteria and failed meeting any expectations that they
have stated. For the girl it didn’t matter because she was truly
in love with him and so was he. Imagine the shock when her
parents completely forbade her from seeing him because as
they say “he was good for nothing”. That didn’t stop them from
seeing each other in secret. When her parents found out they
threatened the boy that if he doesn’t leave their daughter
alone, he would leave them no choice but to call the police.
They also insulted him pretty badly by saying to him that he will
drag their daughter to his level. That’s when he finally stood for
himself and told them that he might not be the most suitable
person for their daughter but he would never do anything to
hurt her and he will work hard enough so she would never feel
miserable. That’s when realization hit the parents and they
decided to give him a chance and be more opened to their
relationship.
In conclusion I want to say that true love is something that you
can`t simply stop or forbade. Moreover, in that way you make
the person miserable for the rest of their life. A person
shouldn`t be defined by their social class, wealth, etc. because
its completely wrong. Everyone should be allowed to make
their own decision of who they want to be for the rest of their
lives
