‘SCHOOL COMES HOME’

In the year 2020 we are going through an

Unexpected pandemic and hence we have altered our Lifestyle
accordingly. teaching and learning method also has been changed
according to the need. usually children used to go to school for learning,
but now the time has changed and school has come home.
Due to covid-19 spread we all are locked inside our home. Staying
inside the home has become mandatory but this situation has not
stopped us from carrying out our daily activities, advanced technology
have allowed us to work even during the lock down period. Education
makes the youth of our country a useful resource but now it is
impossible to carry out the traditional classroom method for education,
and so it is impossible to give a break to this activity. So now we have to
look for an alternative method. We have come up with a solution to
overcome this problem and that is, online classes.

Online teaching was being used even when the traditional classroom
teaching was going on but it did not over power the classroom learning
method. This was due to certain demerits of e-Learning. e-Learning
became more popular during the lock down period and now it is
mandatory to use it. Learning has become more fun now, watching
Educational videos, learning through live classes, playing online quizzes,
etc have made the whole process fun and efficient. children now a days
are more interested in watching videos, playing games in phone, and
browsing internet. But when it is time to study the job seems to be boring
and kids are not interested to do that . When students learn through
online classes their learning matter is not limited to text book alone, now
there is an opportunity to explore more and learn things beyond their
classroom. while learning something it is a tendency to get doubts and
questions, in traditional classroom method usually teachers answer the
student's doubts and questions, but students themselves search for their
answers while learning through internet. By this way children gather
information, learn, and also enjoy doing all these and this method avoids
spoon feeding.

There is a line which says "when we are hungry for something and work
hard to get it then we will never forget what we have learnt in that
journey" The same way when we have doubts and questions in our mind
and we ourselves look for answer then the knowledge obtained
becomes unforgettable this is the main advantage of e-learning. The
worldwide information is now available on our fingertips, because of this
facility we can now learn anything anywhere given that we have access
to internet. We can also get various types of videos, and many lectures
on the same topic in internet, so now it's easy to understand any concept
as there are lot of information available about it. There is one more
advantage that is it minimizes the use of paper and in turn helps to
conserve trees, as papers are made up of trees. Children will become
aware of the latest Technologies.

These are the few advantages or merits of e-Learning which we are

enjoying.
A coin always has to faces likewise e-Learning has disadvantages too.
Internet contains the content which is useful and also some content
which miss guides the young Minds. It is difficult to always monitor the
students and keep an eye on them, so there are possibilities that kids
start watching something educational and end up watching something
else.
Sitting in front of a screen for long hours affects the eyesight adversely
and leads to eye problems. Some students are comfortable learning in
traditional classroom method so it is difficult for such kids to adjust
themselves to e-Learning.
Traditional classroom learning supports interaction but this kind of
interaction cannot be done in online classes, even though it promotes
interaction to some extent. When we interact in classes we learn to
socialize with people and this is one advantage we get in classroom
learning, but not e-Learning.

Earlier we saw that online learning minimizes the use of paper and
helps to conserve trees but on the other hand it also harms the
environment. "Now almost everyone have access to internet" This is
what we assume but it is not true. Even today there are so many places
where internet access is not available, and to provide this facility we
have to set up mobile towers which harms the environment.
In general online learning has advantages and disadvantages, it all
depends on how we use and how much we use. But during the
lockdown period online teaching and learning have become a necessity
and it is mandatory to use it for our development.

When we give a bit more deep thinking on the line "School comes home"
We discover that school is not something where we only learn textbook
stuffs. School is a place where we learn everything, everything includes
many things which helps us to lead our life. During this lockdown period
we have got an opportunity to give time and learn some new skills. In a
day presently we get some leisure time where we can use it for our self
development like learning to paint, cook, dance, sing, yoga etc finally I
conclude that this Covid 19 spread has given us a new experience, has
made us think about everything in deep, and mainly it has changed our
Lifestyle. Now every home is a school and every now and then we are
learning something new, more than the textbook concepts it has made
us familiar with the reality of the present situation and taught us to live in
a different way, and made every home a school.
