through the course syllabi and course instructional plan (CIP).

4) Minimum student engagement time for this subject shall be 51 hours of learning activity to include
reading of class materials, viewing of videos, listening to audio, working on assignments/tasks,
completing quizzes and examinations, and participation to real time meetings and class group chats.

6) Use of synchronous and asynchronous online delivery

Synchronous online classes refer to virtual classes taking place in real time. This can be through
video or chat (Google Meet, Zoom, Skype, Messenger or any other possible app). Teacher and
students have to join the specified platform at the same time.
Asynchronous online delivery is a mode where interaction among all the members of the class
does not have to take place at the same time. The teacher can require students to read materials,
view video clips, complete assignments/quizzes/exams through prescribed mode (email, Google
Classroom, etc.). Completion of aforesaid tasks must be done within the prescribed period
(example: Quizzes must be submitted within 10 or 15 minutes; assignments must be submitted
not later than their due dates; or taking the Midterm Exam of Final Exam within the exam schedule).

7) Observe Netiquette or Standard Behaviors for online communication:

- Keep your NDU email account confidential (for your own use only)
- Treat everyone with respect. Use respectful language when interacting in our chats or video
conferencing and the like
- Observe correct spelling and grammar in all online communication. Avoid using slang terminologies
and spell out all words to do away with miscommunication or misunderstanding.
- Be concise and clear in expressing your thoughts/opinions/ideas unless asked to elaborate further
- Use prescribed fonts and font size (Arial 12/Times New Roman 12, Calibri 12)
- Use caps lock feature only for emphasis. Words in caps lock maybe interpreted as yelling.
- Emoticons are for informal conversations. For formal papers like reaction/reflection/term papers,
do not insert emoticons.
- Exclude confidential personal information from online conversations (credit cards, passwords) and
Other private information unnecessary for learning purposes.
- Provide attachments to emails that can be opened using common applications (Word/PDF)
available to most online users.
- On message boards such as Closed Facebook Groups or Group Chats on Messenger created for the
Class, address all posts to the teacher. Post only statements related to the topic discussed and the
course materials studied. Review and edit your posts thoroughly before posting or submitting.
Read the message thread carefully before replying to ensure that you are on track. For video
conferencing, prepare your technology to ensure that it works properly; position the camera of
your gadget to capture a good frame of you; set up your location in a well-lit room with non-
disturbing background and noise; wear decent clothing; be punctual; mute the microphone of your
gadget when you are not speaking; seek permission from your host for your turn to speak; look into
the camera when you speak; and use respectful language and gestures.

Note: Additional guidelines will be issued should there be any adjustments during this term.

For your proper guidance and perusal.
