1.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
1.1 Introduction

After initial observation towards the Muslims mat, the team had chosen a product that we
believe can contribute to the Islamic community. The product is Digital Praying Mat (DPM).
Nowadays, both parents are very busy with their works and social life; therefore they did not
have much time to teach their children, including not having enough time to teach their
children prayers. This product is suitable for children or Muslims who are learning to pray
and interested to improve their praying abilities.

 Force sensor- the sensor is used to detect how many ‘Rakaah’ had been performed by
the user and what verse that needs to be recited
 Control System- Used to set the prayer time and to select which verse the user
interested to recite during praying

2.1 Praying Mat (A)

Description :

A prayer mat or sajjada, is a piece of fabric to keep the worshipper clean


and comfortable during prayer. Many new prayer mats are manufactured
or made by weavers in a factory. The design of a prayer mat is based on
the village it came from and its weaver. When praying, a niche at the top
of the mat must be pointed to the Islamic center for prayer, Mecca.

Description

Force sensors are required in many mechanical equipments and


aggregates for an accurate determination of pulling or pressing forces.
The force sensor outputs an electrical signal which corresponds to the
force measurement for further evaluating or controlling processes.

Target market for Digital Praying Mat (DPM) is parents who want to teach their kids how to
pray.

 Malaysia 2010 population = 28.25 million people (Source:Wikipedia)


 Estimated Muslim population (65%) = 28.25 X 0.65 = 18.36 million people
 Estimated no. of family (5 person per family) = 18.36/5 = 3.672 million family
 Estimated family with children below 10 years old (25%) = 3.672 X 0.25 = 918,000
 Estimated of family buying (10%) = 918,000 X 0.1 = 91,800

From the number of families that are buying, the estimate sales forecast

= 91,800 family x RM 225

= RM 20,655,000
